Release date, card count, chase cards and how it compares with the EX era.
Deoxys sits in the middle of the EX era, an expansion of the English-language Pokémon TCG released on February 1, 2005 under the set code DX. It prints 107 cards plus one secret card above that count, 108 printings in all. The set takes its name from Deoxys, which appears three times as a plain Pokémon and three more as Deoxys ex, and the headline cards are the Latias ☆ and Latios ☆ pair along with Rayquaza ex. Its Pokémon lean on Grass, Psychic and Water types, with Colorless rounding them out.
The Deoxys card list runs on a short ladder of Common, Uncommon and Rare, so the pull structure is flat and the chase comes from which Rares and star cards turn up, with the one secret card numbered past the printed 107. Latias ☆ and Latios ☆, both illustrated by Masakazu Fukuda, lead the most valuable cards, followed by Rayquaza ex, Deoxys ex and Gyarados. Value is heavily concentrated: the top five cards alone hold 71 percent of the set's total card value, so the rest of the list is comparatively inexpensive.
Deoxys was released February 1, 2005.
Deoxys has 108 cards.
Deoxys is part of the EX era.
As of October 2026, Deoxys holds the 6th highest total card value of the 16 comparable EX sets, about 1.2 times the era median, and its single most valuable card ranks 7th among the era's top cards. Trading activity is lighter, at 14th in the era. At 107 printed cards it is about the same size as the era median of 107, and it ranks 14th for total card value across the whole game. It followed Team Rocket Returns, which holds more total value, and came before Emerald, which holds less. Its cards first appeared in the Japanese set Clash of the Blue Sky, released July 1, 2004, which shares 81 of them.

A full run of Deoxys means 108 printings, and 107 of them carry a price. Because the top five cards hold 71 percent of the total value, the cost of finishing the set is driven by a handful of Rares, while the commons and uncommons fill in around them. The sealed line includes 4 products, covering decks, a booster box and a booster pack.
