Astral Radiance arrived on May 27, 2022, as a Sword & Shield expansion in the English-language Pokémon TCG, carrying the set code ASR. It holds 189 official cards, with 27 secret cards numbered above that count. The release leans on Grass, Water, Fighting and Darkness Pokémon, and its headline cards are Machamp V, Origin Forme Palkia V and Beedrill V. Several trainer and Pokémon names, among them Adaman, Choy, Cyllene and Gardenia's Vigor, appear in three printings each, so the card list carries repeated names across its rarity levels.
The Astral Radiance pull ladder rises from commons and uncommons through holo rares to 88 chase-tier cards, and the 27 secret rares are numbered past the printed 189. The most valuable cards are all Ultra Rare V cards: Machamp V, illustrated by Shinya Komatsu, leads, followed by Origin Forme Palkia V by Oswaldo KATO, Beedrill V by Narumi Sato and Origin Forme Dialga V by Mitsuhiro Arita. Machamp VMAX, a Secret Rare, ranks 8th. The top five cards hold 51 percent of the set's total card value, so a handful of pulls carries about half of the set's worth.
As of October 2026, Astral Radiance holds the 6th highest total card value among the 17 comparable Sword & Shield sets, about 1.6 times the era median, and 97th across the 130 comparable sets in the game. Its single most valuable card ranks 9th in the era, and its trading activity ranks 11th. At 189 printed cards it sits about level with the era median of 189. It followed Brilliant Stars, which holds less total value, and came before Pokémon GO, which also holds less.

A complete run of Astral Radiance means 216 catalog printings, and all 216 are priced. Because the top five cards hold 51 percent of the set's total card value, the cost of finishing it is driven mostly by the Ultra Rare V cards at the top, while the commons, uncommons and many holos sit far below them. The sealed line is broad at 31 products, including booster boxes, a booster case, Elite Trainer Boxes, Build & Battle Boxes, blisters and booster packs.
