Arceus is an expansion in the Platinum series of the Diamond & Pearl era, released on November 4, 2009 under the set code AR. It carries 99 official cards with 12 secret cards numbered above that count, for 111 printings in all. The set is built around the Pokémon it names: Arceus appears in nine printings, with Arceus LV.X, Ponyta, Bagon and Bronzong each showing up more than once. Its types lean on Grass, Colorless, Fighting and Lightning, and Gengar LV.X, Ponyta and Arceus LV.X head the most valuable cards in the card list.
The Arceus pull ladder climbs from commons, uncommons and rares through holo rares to six Rare Holo LV.X cards, the chase tier, with the 12 secret cards sitting past the printed 99. Gengar LV.X leads the set, illustrated by Shizurow, followed by Ponyta by Kanako Eo, Arceus LV.X by Ryo Ueda, Shinx by sui and Salamence LV.X, also by Ryo Ueda. The top five cards hold 54 percent of the set's total card value, so the chase cards, not the commons or holo rares, set the cost of a complete run.
As of October 2026, Arceus holds the 3rd highest total card value of the 11 comparable Diamond & Pearl sets, about 1.2 times the era median, and its Gengar LV.X ranks 3rd among the era's single most valuable cards. It also leads the era in trading activity, and ranks 52nd by total value across the 130 sets in the game. At 99 official cards it is smaller than the era median of 123. It followed Supreme Victors, which holds more total value, and came before HeartGold SoulSilver, which also holds more. Its cards first appeared in Japanese in Pt4: Advent of Arceus, released July 8, 2009.

A complete Arceus run is 111 printings, and all 111 are priced, which makes the set simple to track end to end. Because over half of the set's value sits in five cards, the Rare Holo LV.X cards and a few standout rares account for most of the cost of finishing it, while the commons, uncommons and rares are minor by comparison. Sealed product for the set runs to 11 items, including a booster box, booster packs, blisters, decks and tins.
