Release date, card count, chase cards and how it compares with the Diamond & Pearl era.
Arceus is a Diamond & Pearl era expansion in the Platinum series, released on November 4, 2009 under the set code AR. It carries 99 official cards with 12 secret cards numbered above that count, for 111 catalog printings in all. The set is built around its namesake: Arceus is printed nine times across the run, with Arceus LV.X, Ponyta, Bagon and Bronzong also appearing in several versions. Its headline cards are the LV.X Pokémon, led by Gengar LV.X, Arceus LV.X and Salamence LV.X, and its Pokémon lean on Grass, Colorless, Fighting and Lightning types.
The rarity ladder in Arceus runs from commons and uncommons through rares and holo rares up to six Rare Holo LV.X cards, with the 12 secret cards sitting above the printed 99. Gengar LV.X by Shizurow is the most valuable card, followed by the Rare Ponyta from Kanako Eo, Arceus LV.X and Salamence LV.X, both illustrated by Ryo Ueda, and the Rare Shinx by sui. Value is fairly concentrated: the top five cards hold 54 percent of the set's total card value, so a handful of pulls define the Arceus most valuable cards list.

A full Arceus card list means 111 printings, and all 111 are priced. Because the top five cards carry 54 percent of the set's total card value, the cost of a complete set depends mostly on the LV.X cards and a few valuable rares, while the commons, uncommons and most holos fill out the rest. Sealed product runs to 11 items, including a booster box, booster packs, blisters, decks and tins, alongside a few other sealed products.
