Paper Hero's Games

Paper Hero's Games is a card and board game shop at 11304 Santa Monica Blvd in Los Angeles, one of four locations in a small Southern California group that has been operating since 2015. It stocks Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Riftbound alongside a board game wall and the accessories that go with both, and it keeps the same long daily hours all week. It suits players who want a store open every afternoon and evening, plus collectors who buy sealed product on a regular schedule.

What's on the shelves

Trading cards are the core of the store. Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Riftbound are all sold, both as singles and as sealed product. The board game selection mixes modern and classic titles across strategy, family, party and role-playing categories, and demo nights are available for board games.

Accessories cover what a player needs to build and protect a collection: card sleeves, deck boxes, playmats, dice, counters, miniatures, paints and brushes. That last pair is a useful signal that the store serves miniature painters as well as card players.

Events

The event lineup centers on Magic: The Gathering. The store runs Friday Night Magic, hosts pre-release events for new sets, and runs a Commander night every night of the week. Weekly tournaments come with prize support.

Membership and policies

The store runs a paid VIP membership. The monthly plan is $25 a month, charged monthly. The annual plan works out to $15 a month on a one-year purchase and waives the set-up fee, which is a 40 percent saving over paying month to month. Members get 15 percent off sealed products and access to pre-orders, plus a Roll-A-Dice, Win-A-Pack feature with rewards and prizes. The discount applies to non-limited products only, and some exclusions apply, so limited releases are not discounted.

Hours and getting there

The Los Angeles store is open every day of the week.

The store closes on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

The address is 11304 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90025.

History and other locations

Paper Hero's Games opened in 2015. Besides this Los Angeles shop, the group runs stores in Huntington Beach, Sherman Oaks and Santa Clarita. The Santa Clarita location keeps slightly shorter hours, 1 PM to 9 PM daily, while the other shops match the Los Angeles schedule.
