Value in the Primal Clash master set is lopsided, but the job itself is sizable: 295 slots against 164 cards in the set, 160 official plus 4 secret, so each card adds about 1.8 slots on average. Reverse holos fill 131 slots, normal prints 114 and holos 50. Laid out nine to a side, the full run takes 17 double-sided binder pages. For an English-language Pokémon TCG expansion from the XY era, released February 4, 2015, that is a mid-sized master set to complete.
The Primal Clash master set checklist is built from three finish families: Reverse Holo with 131 slots, Normal with 114 and Holo with 50. The reverse holo slots come from the commons, uncommons and rares, so each of those cards takes a second binder pocket beside its normal print. A reverse holo is the same card with the holographic pattern across the card body rather than only in the art window, and the master set counts it as its own slot. Every slot in the set comes from one of those three finishes.
| Variant family | Slots | Priced | Share of value |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reverse Holo | 131 | 131 | 15% |
| Normal | 114 | 114 | 3.3% |
| Holo | 50 | 50 | 82% |
The Primal Clash master set cost is concentrated at the top. As of October 24, 2026, the ten most valuable slots hold 59 percent of the total, while the lower-value half of the 295 priced slots, which is every slot in the master set, holds just 3 percent. By finish, holos carry 82 percent of the value, reverse holos 15 percent and normal prints 3 percent. Condition matters too: an LP and up master set totals 38 percent below Near Mint, and an MP and up total sits 57 percent below.

A handful of Ultra Rare holos decide how hard the Primal Clash master set is to finish. In value order, the hardest slots are the Primal Kyogre EX holo, the Primal Groudon EX holo, the Kyogre EX holo, the Groudon EX holo and the M Gardevoir EX holo. Together they hold 44 percent of the master set's total value. All five are the main holo print of their card rather than a variant, so the difficulty sits in the headline EX cards instead of in any hidden reverse holo slot.
At 295 slots, the Primal Clash master set is about 1.4 times the XY era median of 209, though it ranks 5th by master set value among the 14 comparable sets of its era. Its neighbours differ in both respects: the previous set, Phantom Forces, has 223 slots and a master set that holds more value, while the next, Double Crisis, is a small 66-slot job whose master set holds less.

A Primal Clash master set is one copy of every card AND every variant in the set — the 164 cards on this page, with their Normal, Reverse Holo and Holo prints each listed and priced on their own. Sign in and the checklist tracks what you own, in step with the Cardboard Alpha app.
The large NM-only figure is a complete catalog estimate when every printing has current NM pricing. LP, MP, HP, and DMG “and up” totals below it use the requested condition or a better available condition. These are summed reference prices, not a quote from one seller; a dash means the current market does not cover every printing yet.
“LP and up” means lightly played or better: the total uses LP when available, then NM as the better-condition fallback. The MP, HP, and DMG tiers follow the same pattern.
