Release date, card count, chase cards and how it compares with the EX era.
POP Series 5 is a promotional collection from the EX era of the English-language Pokémon TCG, released on March 1, 2007 under the set code P5. It is small, with 17 cards in the checklist, and it leans on Lightning, Darkness, Fire and Metal Pokémon. The headline names are Espeon ★, Mew δ, Lugia and Charmeleon δ, and the delta species cards carry much of the interest in this promotional run, alongside two Pikachu cards and a Double Rainbow Energy.
POP Series 5 has no chase tier in its rarity structure, which is only commons, uncommons and rares, so the draw is a few specific cards rather than a pull ladder. Espeon ★ leads, followed by Mew δ, Lugia and Charmeleon δ, with the first three all printed as rares. Masakazu Fukuda illustrated the top two, and Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated Lugia, and he has the most cards in the set with six. The top five cards hold 91 percent of the set's total card value, which is an extreme concentration for a 17-card run.
POP Series 5 was released March 1, 2007.
POP Series 5 has 17 cards.
POP Series 5 is part of the EX era.
As of October 2026, POP Series 5 holds the 2nd highest total card value among the 10 comparable EX era sets, about 5.1 times the era median, and its Espeon ★ ranks 1st among the era's single most valuable cards. It also ranks 2nd for trading activity in the era and 12th for total card value across the whole game. At 17 printed cards it sits about level with the era median. It follows Basic Energy (2007 copyright) and precedes DP Black Star Promos, which holds higher total value. Its cards first appeared in a Japanese set, PCG-P Promotional cards, from February 1, 2004.

POP Series 5 runs to 17 printings, and 16 of them are priced, so tracking a complete set is straightforward. Because the top five cards carry 91 percent of the value, the cost of finishing the set is dominated by Espeon ★, Mew δ and a few other rares, while the commons and uncommons are minor additions. On the sealed side, the set has one product, filed as other sealed, rather than a range of boxes or packs.
