The cost structure is the story of the Fates Collide master set, but the build comes first: it takes 225 slots against 129 cards, since the set lists 124 official cards with 5 secret rares above that count. Each card adds about 1.7 slots on average. Normal prints and reverse holos each fill 96 slots, and holos fill 33. At nine cards a side the full run fits in 13 double-sided binder pages, a mid-sized job for an XY era set from the English-language Pokémon TCG, released May 2, 2016.
The Fates Collide master set is built from three families: 96 Normal slots, 96 Reverse Holo slots and 33 Holo slots. The reverse holo family covers the Common, Uncommon and Rare cards, so each of those rarities needs a second slot beside its normal print. A reverse holo is the same card printed with a holographic finish across the card body rather than only the art window. There are no stamped or edition-specific families in this master set checklist, so completing it is a matter of finishes alone.
| Variant family | Slots | Priced | Share of value |
|---|---|---|---|
| Normal | 96 | 92 | 5.0% |
| Reverse Holo | 96 | 96 | 16% |
| Holo | 33 | 33 | 79% |
The Fates Collide master set cost is heavily top-weighted. As of October 24, 2026, 221 of the 225 slots carry a price, and the ten most valuable slots hold 66 percent of the master set's total value. Holos account for 79 percent of the total despite being only 33 slots, while reverse holos hold 16 percent and normal prints just 5 percent. The lower-value half of the priced slots adds up to only 3 percent, so most of the binder is close to filler in value terms and the spending concentrates in a small group of cards.

Five holo slots define how hard the Fates Collide master set is to finish: the Secret Rare Alakazam EX, then Ultra Rares Umbreon EX, M Alakazam EX, a second Umbreon EX and Lugia BREAK. Together they hold 51 percent of the master set's total value. None of them is a variant slot; each is the card's main holo print, so the difficulty sits in the chase cards themselves rather than in an overlooked reverse holo. Finishing the Fates Collide master set largely means finishing those five.
At 225 slots, the Fates Collide master set is about equal to the XY era median of 209 slots, so the binder work is typical for the era. By master set value it ranks 11th of 14 comparable XY sets, placing it in the lower part of the range. The previous set, Generations, has 183 slots and a master set that holds higher value, while the next set, Steam Siege, has 206 slots and a master set that holds lower value.

A Fates Collide master set is one copy of every card AND every variant in the set — the 129 cards on this page, with their Normal, Reverse Holo and Holo prints each listed and priced on their own. Sign in and the checklist tracks what you own, in step with the Cardboard Alpha app.
The large NM-only figure is a complete catalog estimate when every printing has current NM pricing. LP, MP, HP, and DMG “and up” totals below it use the requested condition or a better available condition. These are summed reference prices, not a quote from one seller; a dash means the current market does not cover every printing yet.
“LP and up” means lightly played or better: the total uses LP when available, then NM as the better-condition fallback. The MP, HP, and DMG tiers follow the same pattern.
