The Game Guild

The Game Guild is a hobby game store in Blackfoot, Idaho, with a weekly calendar that covers trading card games and miniatures wargaming in the same room. Pokémon and Flesh and Blood are the card games carried, and the shop also offers 3D printing, miniature painting commissions and custom merchandise. It suits players who want a standing night for their game and miniatures hobbyists who would rather commission a paint job than do it themselves.

What's on the shelves

Pokémon and Flesh and Blood are the card games the store carries, and it also sells TCG singles. The rest of the offering leans toward the miniatures side of the hobby. The store runs custom 3D printing in many materials and two different processes, and customers can bring their own files, choose from a library of commercially available STL files, or work with an artist to commission custom files. Quotes for printing are requested by email.

Painting commissions are available for anyone who would rather not paint their own miniatures. The store has both basic and advanced artists, and the work ranges from getting a new army table-ready to building a display piece. Custom merchandise rounds out the services: stickers, t-shirts, mugs, mouse pads, game mats, terrain mats, bags, pens, hats, plates, metal signs and more, printed with a customer's own image.

Weekly play

The store keeps a full week of recurring events, most of them running 6 PM to 9 PM.

Saturday is the longest session of the week, starting three hours earlier than the weeknight events.

Organized play

Pokémon League is the confirmed organized-play program, held every Thursday night. Friday Night Magic runs weekly as well, which gives Magic players a regular night alongside the Pokémon and Flesh and Blood crowds. Flesh and Blood on Wednesdays is a casual play night.

Getting there

The store is in Blackfoot, Idaho, on Highland Dr, at 1520 Highland Dr. The weekly event nights are the surest times to find the doors open and a game running.

Who it suits

The Game Guild fits Pokémon and Flesh and Blood players who want a regular league or casual night, Magic players looking for a Friday event, and Warhammer 40,000 players with a long Saturday session. The paint night, painting commissions and 3D printing also make it a practical stop for miniatures hobbyists in the Blackfoot area.
