Goblin Town Games

Goblin Town Games is a hobby game store at 1800 Garrett Way Ste 10 in Pocatello, Idaho. It carries Pokémon and Disney Lorcana for card players, but the shelves lean toward the tabletop side of the hobby: miniature wargames, role-playing games, board games and painting supplies. It suits players who want a cards-and-minis store under one roof, and painters looking for a deep paint rack.

What's on the shelves

Pokémon and Disney Lorcana are the card games on the list. The wider stock is where the store stands out.

Miniature wargames are the largest category. Warhammer 40k has a long list of army lines, from Space Marines, Orks, Necrons and Tyranids to Adeptus Mechanicus, Drukhari and the Leagues of Votann, along with books, core sets, terrain and Necromunda. Age of Sigmar, Blood Bowl, Malifaux, Kill Team, Warcry and Warhammer Underworlds are covered, as are Bolt Action, Konflikt '47, Warmachine and Hordes, Marvel Crisis Protocol, Star Wars Legion, Frostgrave and StarCraft. Bolt Action stock is organized by nation, including the United States, British and Italian forces.

Role-playing games include Dungeons & Dragons core rule books, Pathfinder, Starfinder, Shadowrun, Vampire the Masquerade, Call of Cthulhu, Legend of the Five Rings and Genesys, plus dice, dice bags and miniatures. The board game shelf runs from Catan, Ticket to Ride and Pandemic to Terraforming Mars, Spirit Island, Everdell and Zombicide.

Hobby and painting supplies

Painters can choose among Citadel, Vallejo, Scale75, P3 and Turbo Dork paints, with brushes and tools from Army Painter. Terrain and basing materials include Gamers Grass, Battle Systems Terrain and Diorama Effects. Gift cards are available.

Organized play and events

Card events include a Pokémon League Cup and, on the Lorcana side, a pre-release and a Lorcana Store Championship. The events calendar is otherwise built around wargaming and carries ticketed tournaments:

Beyond these, the calendar also carries a Blood Bowl holiday event, the Gifts of Nuffle Holliday Extravaganza, the 4th Annual Thunder Ridge Colossal Conundrum, and a recurring Paint Night.
