Saltire Games

Saltire Games is a game and toy store on the northeast side of Indianapolis, open since 2009, that carries Magic: The Gathering and Pokémon alongside a broad run of board games, role-playing games and miniatures. It suits families, hobby gamers and casual card players who want a clean place to sit down and play, with toys and puzzles on the same floor.

What's on the shelves

The card side centers on Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon and UniVersus, with card game accessories stocked alongside. Beyond cards, the store sells board games sorted by style (party, cooperative, strategy) and by player count, role-playing games and accessories, dice in metal, gemstone and plastic, and miniatures including Infinity and Marvel: Crisis Protocol. Warhammer and Dungeons & Dragons product are on the shelves too.

Painters get their own aisle: Citadel, The Army Painter, Vallejo and Turbo Dork paints, in brush-on, spray, airbrush and technical or effect types, plus brushes, glue, basing material and other tools. The toy side runs from plush, building sets and arts and crafts to science and STEM kits, puzzles, books and manga.

Playing and borrowing

The store keeps a board game library that is free to use for in-store play and can also be rented and taken home. The play spaces are kept clean and open to anyone who wants to try a game. Away from the shop, the store also arranges Family Game Nights at schools, churches and clubs in Lawrence, McCordsville, Geist, Fishers and the surrounding areas.

Store policies

Returns are accepted within 30 days for items that are unused and in their original packaging, with a receipt or proof of purchase. Collectible card games, collectible miniatures games and blind-box style products cannot be returned, and neither can sale items or gift cards. A return has to be requested before anything is sent back, and approved refunds go to the original payment method within 10 business days.

Orders can also be placed for shipping, though international shipping is not offered. Free local pickup at the store is ready within 1 to 2 business days of ordering.

The store belongs to the XP Network, so customers can earn XP Points and redeem them toward purchases. A Kids Club program adds $5 birthday gift cards, summer reading programs, summer camps and special events through the year.
