Prodigy Games

Prodigy Games is a trading card game store at 6222 S Congress Ave in Lake Worth Beach, Florida, built around the South Florida TCG community. It has been open since 2018 and stocks everything from Pokémon and Magic: The Gathering to sports cards, with tabletop games alongside. It suits players who want daily tournament play, a family-friendly room, and a store that buys cards for cash.

What's on the shelves

The store carries Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece Card Game, Disney Lorcana, Flesh and Blood, Digimon Card Game, Dragon Ball Super Card Game, Weiss Schwarz and sports cards. Cardfight Vanguard, Final Fantasy, graded cards and gaming accessories are also stocked. Beyond cards, the store sells Dungeons & Dragons, Warhammer and a large catalog of popular board games, a line it added to serve casual gamers as well as competitive players.

Singles are sold two ways. Premium singles are kept in a dedicated card case in the store, and its contents rotate daily, so what is there changes from one visit to the next. Nothing is held or reserved, and the store does not match prices.

Buying cards

The store pays cash for trading cards, with offers based on the lowest listed market value. Buy rates run from 45% to 65% and can be paid in cash, CashApp, Zelle or PayPal. Collections of more than 100 cards need an appointment. The store does not appraise cards, and it does not buy damaged or foreign cards.

Store credit can be earned through tournaments and by trading in singles, and it can be spent in the store or online.

Tournaments and events

Trading card game tournaments run every day. Entry is paid in store credit or cash, and every dollar collected goes into the prize pool. On some weekends the store runs special events with prizes ranging from cash to motorcycles.

Store policies

Preorders are fulfilled in the order they were placed, which also locks in the price paid at the time of ordering. A cancelled preorder carries a 10% restocking fee and loses its place in line. Online orders are not eligible for the Buy-A-Box promotion or Dash Packs, which must be collected in person at the store.

Refunds carry a 5% restocking fee, and return requests are accepted only within 7 days of delivery on unopened product. The store accepts every major debit and credit card as well as PayPal.

Shipping goes anywhere in the contiguous United States for $8 per package, and orders over $125 ship free. Most orders arrive within 2 to 7 business days.
