Brokeasscomics

Brokeasscomics is a Fort Pierce, Florida, shop that sells comics and Pokémon cards, with graded, signed and raw back-issue books forming the bulk of what it moves. It suits collectors who want slabbed Marvel and Star Wars titles with celebrity signatures, anyone assembling a run of back issues from bundle sets, and Pokémon buyers working from either premium or budget stock.

What's on the shelves

Comics are the center of the stock. The graded collection is made up of CGC books, many of them signature series copies signed by celebrities, with 89 products in the collection. Examples run from an Uncanny X-Men issue to Star Wars titles such as Ahsoka #1 and Return of the Jedi #2, a Ms. Marvel #1 and a Scarlet Witch #1 ratio variant. Prices in the graded section range from roughly $180 for a Captain Marvel #1 to $700 for a signed Deadpool virgin variant.

Raw back issues are sold both singly and as bundle sets. Recent examples include consecutive runs of The Amazing Spider-Man issues, an Incredible Hulk #140 to #143 set, a Detective Comics #353 and #354 pair, and complete mini-series such as Daredevil #1 to #5 and Undeadpool #1 to #3. Bundles start around $13 and climb into the low hundreds for older Hulk issues.

Beyond those two collections, the catalog is sorted by publisher and character: Marvel (X-Men, Venom and family, Spider-Man stories, women of Marvel), DC (Batman and company, women of DC), independent publishers including Spawn and Transformers, full or nearly full series, graphic novels, and a section of books at $10 and under. Silver Age and Bronze Age books have their own category.

Pokémon is the one card game carried. The store separates rare and premium cards from bulk and budget cards, so a buyer chasing a single chase card and a buyer filling a binder are not shopping the same shelf.

Buying, trading and payment plans

The store buys and trades as well as sells. Offers are arranged by messaging the owners directly. New customers get 10% off a first order with a discount code, and the store arranges customized payment plans on anything it sells, which matters when a graded signature book is priced in the hundreds.

Store policies

All sales are final, with no refunds or cancellations. The owners will work through a genuine problem case by case, but they ask buyers to raise issues promptly and the policy is deliberately firm to cut down on buyer's remorse. Some of the signed books are sold without JSA authentication, and the store flags that on each listing, so buyers should read each listing before committing.

Getting there

The store is at 5166 Armina Pl in Fort Pierce. Business is done largely online and by message, and regular opening hours are not set out, so reach out before planning a trip in person.
