Paladin Cards

Paladin Cards is a family-run, disabled veteran-owned trading card store in Shelby Township, Michigan, open since 2019 and built around Pokémon. It sells sealed product and accessories, ships orders across the United States, and keeps a small walk-in counter on 23 Mile Road. It suits collectors who buy sealed product and preorder new sets, and who want a store that also ships.

What's on the shelves

Pokémon is the core of the stock. The catalog covers new releases, booster boxes, Elite Trainer Box products, booster bundles, collection boxes, sleeved packs and blisters, and sealed cases, along with accessories. The store also carries Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece Card Game and Weiss Schwarz, and the catalog runs to Palworld, Riftbound, Gundam, Magic, Hololive and Union Arena. Supplies come from Vault X, BCW and Ultra Pro, and the store makes custom binders by hand, so each one can differ slightly from its photos.

All sealed product is factory sealed and sourced through authorized distributors. Graded cards turn up occasionally, and each one is identified by grading company and grade.

How the store runs

The business works mainly as a shipping operation, and it has shipped more than 11,500 orders. In-stock orders typically process within 1 to 3 business days, Monday through Friday, and transit usually runs 2 to 7 business days depending on carrier and destination. Orders of $300 or more, after discounts and before taxes, ship free by economy service within the continental United States. Shipping goes to addresses in the United States, U.S. Territories and APO/FPO/DPO addresses.

Preorders are the other big piece. They reserve upcoming releases, with payment collected at checkout, and they do not intentionally ship before the official release date. An order that mixes preorder and in-stock items may be held until everything is available, so placing them as separate orders gets the in-stock items out sooner. Separate orders are not combined once placed.

A few policies are worth knowing before you buy:

• All sales are final, including singles, sealed product and preorders.
• An approved preorder cancellation carries a 15% fee, and an approved standard order cancellation carries a 10% processing fee.
• The store does not offer traditional price matching.
• Active duty service members and veterans get 10% off eligible products after verification through ID.me.
• Paladin Perks, a free VIP program, earns points that can be redeemed as savings.

Community giveaways, special drops and raffles are held regularly for customers. There is no weekly in-store event schedule and no organized-play program.

Hours and getting there

The address is 13719 23 Mile Rd, Suite 305, Shelby Township, MI 48315, and the unit sits inside a UPS Store, so expect a shipping and pickup counter rather than a play space.
