Millennium Games

Millennium Games is a tabletop game store at 1225 Jefferson Rd in Rochester, New York, with more than 35 years behind it in Western New York. It sells collectible card games alongside board games, role-playing books and miniatures, and it runs a large free game room, which makes it a fit for players who want a place to sit down and play as much as shop.

What's on the shelves

The card side covers Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece Card Game, Disney Lorcana, Flesh and Blood, Digimon Card Game and Star Wars: Unlimited, with singles and packs for each. The singles stock also reaches into Riftbound, Cookie Run and Hololive. Collectible card game sections also run to Gundam Card Game, Arkham Horror: The Card Game, Marvel Champions, KeyForge, Sorcery CCG and Universus. Supplies include binders, card storage, deck boxes, hard cases, playmats and sleeves, with Dragon Shield sleeves given their own section.

Cards are one department among several. The board game stock runs past 2,000 titles, and the store carries Games Workshop lines such as Warhammer 40,000 and Age of Sigmar, along with a wide range of other miniatures games and terrain. The role-playing shelves include Dungeons and Dragons and Pathfinder. Paints, Lego, books, manga, Gunpla and other anime goods round out the floor.

Play space and events

The store has more than 4,000 square feet of dedicated play space that holds crowds of up to 200 for special events. The game room, its tables and an extensive selection of gaming terrain are free to use. Dozens of gaming events and tournaments run each week, including Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Warhammer 40,000, Digimon, Flesh and Blood and Dungeons & Dragons. Open play tables are available daily, and private rooms can be reserved for draft nights or campaign sessions.

Several recurring events are aimed at newcomers:

• Every Friday, staff teachers demo a variety of board games.
• On Mondays, Adventurers League tables welcome walk-ins and supply the basics for learning Dungeons & Dragons.
• On Saturday and Sunday evenings, Commander tables run for players from beginner to competitive.

Waypoint, the store's second gaming space, is aimed at miniatures players, role-players and board gamers. It has a lineup of pinball machines, a board game menu and a selection of drinks from local breweries with snacks. Anyone under 18 must come with a parent or guardian. Parties larger than 10 should call ahead, since seating cannot be promised.

Buying and selling

The store buys used Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, plus used board games and role-playing books, for cash or store credit. Offers are typically made on the spot. Dungeons and Dragons books are always wanted, and the buyers are somewhat more selective with Yu-Gi-Oh! depending on current needs. Bulk is bought at set rates.

Store policies

Unopened, undamaged items can be returned within 30 days with a receipt for a full refund. Single cards, collectible card game products (opened or unopened) and used games cannot be returned. Orders ship to any address in the country within 5 to 7 business days after payment.

House rules keep the room friendly: everyone is welcome, the play area is kept clean, and language stays youth-appropriate. Offensive imagery is not allowed, and no outside drinks or gum can come in, since drink sales help keep the play space free. Cheaters are banned from the store.
