About
Midwest Coin and Collectibles in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, is a buying office rather than a shop floor. It is a licensed, bonded and insured coin and bullion dealer that purchases coins, currency, gold, silver, jewelry, diamonds and watches, and it also takes in select collectibles, Pokémon cards and pre-1973 baseball cards among them. It suits someone with a collection or an estate to sell, not a player looking for a place to buy packs or sit down to a game.
The store holds no inventory at this location, so there are no shelves of singles or sealed product to browse. Coins and currency are the core of the business. United States coins range from single pieces to family collections, including mint and proof sets, silver dollars, pre-1965 dimes and quarters, gold coins of any denomination, and paper money. Large Size Notes, the pre-1929 United States bills, are bought graded or raw. Coins certified by PCGS, NGC and ANACS are bought, along with coins graded by other companies. Foreign and world coins are bought too, but the store does not exchange foreign currency for US currency.
On the collectibles side, the buying list names Pokémon cards and pre-1973 baseball cards, along with post cards, arrowheads, beer collectibles, tin toys and Lladró figurines. The buyer also takes sterling flatware, scrap gold, squash blossom jewelry and costume jewelry. Collectible, vintage and luxury watches are bought in any condition, working or not. Diamonds are evaluated on the spot by a GIA-certified diamond expert, and the store buys the ring setting and side stones along with the main stone.
Coins are paid for at the bullion or metal value or at the numismatic or collector value, whichever is higher. Offers are free and carry no obligation, and deals of any size are welcome, from $100 to $100,000 and up. Someone unsure whether an item is worth anything can bring it in to be sorted out.
The office is private and by appointment only. Appointments run from 11 AM to 5:30 PM. For larger jobs the owners make house calls, and they will travel for large deals and big collections, serving the Minneapolis and St. Paul area, the state of Minnesota and the wider United States. The business is female owned and operated and is a member in good standing of the Gemological Institute of America, the American Numismatic Association, PCGS, NGC, Paper Money Guaranty and Certified Coin Exchange.
The office is at Suite 120, 4301 Hwy 7, St Louis Park, MN 55416. Because visits are private and scheduled, walking in is not the model, though one customer was seen without an appointment.
For shelves of cards and games, several stores sit within a few miles. Red Stamp Cards and Dreamers Vault Games, both in Minneapolis, are about 1.7 miles away, CSHobby in Hopkins is about 2.9 miles away, and We Got Game and Comic Book College in Minneapolis are about 3 miles away. Two card shows are on the calendar: PokeConnect Card Show, about 16.9 miles away, starts on November 6, 2026, and the Maplewood Mall Christmas Card Show, about 15.1 miles away, starts on December 18, 2026.
