MP Chinese set guide
Card count, chase cards and how it compares with the Mega era.
MP is a promotional run in the Mega era of the Simplified Chinese Pokémon TCG, catalogued under the set code MP. It is a promo collection rather than a boosted expansion, and the card list is as small as a set can be, with a single printing recorded. With no printed release label or card-by-card breakdown to lean on, the identity of MP comes down to its role: a one-card promotional entry that sits beside the main Mega-era releases instead of competing with them.
MP chase cards and rarities
With one catalogued printing, MP has no rarity ladder to climb and no secret cards sitting above a printed count. The chase begins and ends with that single promotional card, so there is no spread of value to measure and no list of top cards to rank. Collectors who want the most valuable cards from the Mega era will find them in the full expansions, while MP is the set to look at when the goal is simply to account for every promotional card in the Simplified Chinese catalogue.
How MP compares
MP is a promotional run, so it is not ranked against the boosted sets of the Mega era by total card value, top single card or trading activity. A one-card promo collection cannot be fairly set beside expansions with hundreds of cards, and there is no neighbouring release to place it between. It stands apart in the Simplified Chinese Pokémon TCG as a small side entry within the Mega era, best read as a companion to the main sets rather than a rival to them.

Collecting MP
The full run of MP is a single catalogued printing, so completing the card list means tracking down one card. Because the whole set is that one card, there is no concentration of value across a top five and no spread of costs to plan around: the price of a complete MP is the price of that one promotional card. For Simplified Chinese collectors working through the Mega era, MP is the quickest entry on the checklist to finish, though it is not always the easiest card to find.
A 0-100 composite of the sub-scores — liquidity, trend, value, supply and risk — each computed on this instrument’s own evidence and reweighted when an input is missing rather than filled with a neutral 50. Higher is better; it ranks instruments against each other, and is never a price target.
