Windy City Breakers LLC - Trading Cards & Collectibles

Windy City Breakers is a sports card shop at 203 Irving Park Rd in Roselle, Illinois. It sells sealed sports card products, with basketball hobby boxes among the stock, and it runs live card breaks for collectors who would rather watch a box get opened than buy one outright. It suits sports card collectors in the northwest suburbs, especially anyone chasing modern basketball product.

What's on the shelves

The store's focus is sports cards, and the stock leans toward sealed boxes. One example is a factory sealed 2019-20 Panini Donruss Optic Choice Basketball hobby box, priced at $499.99. Each box is a single pack of six cards that contains an autograph, a Prizm Holo, two base rookie cards, a Prizm Choice Red and one more Choice Prizm. The set is built around the 2019 NBA Draft class, with rookie cards of players such as Zion Williamson, Ja Morant and R.J. Barrett.

The shorter-printed parallels are the draw for collectors. Choice Red is numbered to 88, Black Gold to 8 and Nebula to 1, while Dragon is unnumbered. The rookie signature cards also come in Black Gold versions numbered to 8.

Live breaks

The store also streams breaks and live card openings online, so collectors who can't make it to Roselle can still take part in the box openings.
