The Game Store

The Game Store is a games retailer at 2126 N 1st St, Suite I, in Jacksonville, Arkansas, and it leans toward the tabletop and miniatures side of the hobby as much as the card side. Trading card games sit alongside Warhammer lines, board games and video games, which makes it a one-stop shop for a household that splits its time between decks, armies and consoles. It opened for business in August 2024.

What's on the shelves

Trading card games get their own section of the stock. The store carries Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, One Piece Card Game, Disney Lorcana, Digimon Card Game and Star Wars: Unlimited, plus Riftbound and Godzilla product. Sealed product is the focus: Magic Play Booster boxes, One Piece double pack sets, Lorcana Illumineer's Trove boxes and Pokémon premium collections all appear in the lineup, and Riftbound is sold as booster displays.

Beyond cards, the miniatures range is deep. Games Workshop is well represented, with Warhammer 40,000, Warhammer Age of Sigmar, Warhammer The Horus Heresy, Kill Team, The Old World, Underworlds and Warhammer Fantasy, plus the Black Library book collection. Other miniatures and skirmish games include Star Wars Legion, Star Wars Shatterpoint, Star Wars X-Wing, Marvel Crisis Protocol, Heroscape, Cyberpunk, Gundam and Dungeons & Dragons HeroClix. The store also carries board games, from classic strategy titles to recent releases, along with RPG material and Funko.

Supplies cover the usual needs: card sleeves, deck boxes, dice, game mats, books, Citadel paint and Army Painter paint. The video game side includes new and used games and consoles across Nintendo (including NES and Switch), PlayStation (PS4 and PS5) and Sega, plus Amiibo.

Store policies

Preorders are available, and payment is collected in full at checkout because the store places the order with its distributor. That makes preorders non-refundable. Subscriptions are offered on some items and can be changed or cancelled at any time.

Returns on unopened, unused product must be requested within 7 business days of receiving a purchase. The buyer pays return shipping and a 15% restocking fee comes out of the refund. Trading card games and preorders cannot be returned. Shipping insurance is included with orders, and claims for damaged or missing packages go through the carrier the buyer selected.

Selling to the store

The store buys consoles, video games, gaming accessories and movies. Sellers send a list of what they have and receive a preliminary offer, which can change with condition and other factors. If the seller accepts, the items are mailed to the store's Suite I address. Once the package is received and verified, payment goes out by business check or PayPal. The buying program is built around video game and console inventory rather than trading card collections.

Getting there

The store sits on North 1st Street in Jacksonville, in Suite I at number 2126. Opening hours and in-store events are not set out here, so a visit is worth planning around a call ahead.
