About
Red Castle Games is a game store at 7160 SE Foster Rd in Portland, Oregon, built around tabletop and card games in equal measure. Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece Card Game, Disney Lorcana and Star Wars: Unlimited all get shelf space, and a deep stock of board games, role-playing games, miniatures and paints sits alongside them. Its weekly Magic league and its habit of running prereleases for new sets make it a natural stop for players who like organized events.
The card side of the store covers the major trading card games, plus Gundam, Riftbound: League of Legends TCG, Keyforge, Warlord and My Little Pony. Singles have their own section. Accessories fill out the wall: sleeves, hard cases, binders, deck boxes, playmats, toploaders and storage boxes for large collections, along with life counters.
Beyond cards, the store sorts its board games by player count and style, including two-player, cooperative, family, party and strategy titles. Role-playing games run to Dungeons & Dragons, Daggerheart and Pathfinder/Starfinder, with starter sets, indie games and game master aids. Miniatures players will find Age of Sigmar, Warhammer 40,000, Blood Bowl, Necromunda and Underworlds, backed by a wide paint selection that includes Warhammer paints, Pro-Acryl, The Army Painter and Fanatic Warpaints. Jigsaw puzzles, dice in every material, plushies, jewelry and gift cards round things out. The store also keeps a demo library of games available to try.
| Day | Time | Game | Format | Entry |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Friday | 8 PM | Magic: The Gathering | League night | $19.99 |
The Friday league is a casual sealed escalation league, and the $19.99 figure is the first-week entry that covers three booster packs of the featured set.
The current league is the Reality Fracture Sealed Escalation League, which starts Friday, October 9 and runs six weeks (October 9, 16, 23 and 30, then November 13 and 20). There is no league session on November 6 because of the Star Trek prerelease. It is the store's last league of 2026, and play is capped at 26 players.
Entry is $19.99 the first week, when players open three packs and build a 30-card deck, then $7.50 each following week for one more pack. A player who loses three or more games in a week can buy one extra pack. Wins and losses do not decide anything, so players can play as many or as few games as they like and catch up on packs at any time. Each player receives a storage box to keep league cards at the store, and everything goes home when the league ends.
The deck rules tighten as the weeks go on. Weeks one and two require at least 30 cards, week three raises the minimum to 40, week four is Peasant (commons and uncommons only), week five is Highlander (one copy of any card other than basic lands), and week six requires 60 cards. Players earn one raffle ticket for each day they play a league game at the store, and tickets reset after each Friday's raffle at 8 PM. Prizes include a Reality Fracture Collector booster pack, and winners must be present. Outside food and drink are not allowed at league events. The leagues have a record of selling out quickly once registration opens.
The store runs a full calendar of preregistered events. A Reality Fracture Store Championship is set for noon on November 1, 2026. Star Trek prerelease sessions are scheduled across the weekend of November 6 to 8: Friday at noon and 6 PM, Saturday at noon, Sunday at 4 PM, plus two-headed formats on Saturday at 5 PM and Sunday at 11 AM. One Piece OP-18 prereleases are set for noon on November 29 and 6 PM on December 2.
Dungeons & Dragons players have a regular outlet in Red Castle Quests, a series of 5E one-shot adventures hosted by the store's professional Dungeon Masters. Quests are limited to ages 16 and older, and younger adventurers are pointed to the store's After School Academy program.
Products and events can be ordered or preregistered online. Orders are available for in-store pickup or local delivery to a limited set of zip codes, and the store is not shipping at this time. Upcoming sets such as Star Wars: Unlimited Icons 2027 are open for preorder ahead of release. Store tokens in $5, $10 and $25 amounts are sold at the counter.
