Private Stock Hobby Shop

Private Stock Hobby Shop is a sports card shop at 318 S Saginaw Rd in Midland, Michigan. It sells sports cards and collectibles and runs a two-tier membership program with reward points, sealed wax discounts and reduced consignment fees. That makes it a fit for collectors who buy sealed wax regularly or who want to sell cards on consignment.

Membership and rewards

Membership is the store's most distinctive feature. Signing up requires a valid government-issued photo ID from the United States, Puerto Rico or Canada, or any valid passport. Premium memberships are limited to one per household, and cards are not transferable. The card is valid at any Private Stock location, and members show their card or number at purchase, in store and online, to collect reward points. Renewal fees are due by the last day of the month in which a membership expires and can be paid online or in the store.

A free membership is open to anyone 12 or older. A premium membership is open to ages 18 and over and takes 10% off regularly priced sealed wax products, though the discount does not apply to special orders or consignment wax. Premium members also get priority access to events, special orders and new releases as those become available.

Consignment

The store takes cards on consignment at a standard commission of 10% of the final purchase price, dropping to 5% for premium members. Consignment wax is excluded from the premium sealed wax discount.

House rules

Shirts and shoes must be worn on the property at all times. The store may inspect bags, backpacks and other containers on entering or leaving the warehouse, so plan to open your bag if asked.
