Nygn Games

Nygn Games is a card and tabletop game store at 45049 W Pontiac Trl in Novi, Michigan, built around trading card games and a room set aside for playing them. It carries Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Digimon Card Game and Star Wars: Unlimited, runs tournaments on Mondays and Thursdays, and hosts Magic nights in the middle and end of the week. It suits players who want a table and a regular game night more than a big retail floor.

What's on the shelves

The singles stock covers Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, Cardfight, Vanguard, Star Wars: Unlimited and Digimon. Singles can also be browsed in an online marketplace, and any card from that inventory can be reserved by phone for pickup at the store.

The store buys cards as well, paying in either store credit or cash.

Weekly play

A dedicated play area is the point of the place. There are plenty of tables for anyone who wants to play a board game with friends or sit down and build a deck, and table space for the casual Magic nights carries no charge.

The store stays open past its posted closing time on event nights, which matters most on Wednesday, when it is otherwise closed during the day.

Commander nights

The Magic evenings are built around casual Commander: players bring a 100-card deck of their own and play friendly multiplayer games. Wednesday adds draft to the mix. Yu-Gi-Oh! nights, by contrast, are competitive, with prizes for tournament players.

Hours and getting there

Hours extend past 8 PM whenever a tournament, draft, prerelease or other event is running.

History and the move

The store grew out of a singles-selling operation: the founder spent years building a deep local library of cards for deck building, then opened a physical store so those games and their tournaments would have a home. The aim is a positive, sportsmanlike player community, with longer-term hopes of fielding gaming teams across several games and sponsoring up-and-coming players.

The shop recently relocated within the same plaza, moving to the unit on the right. The grand re-opening at the new location was set for Monday, May 4, 2026, and the new space has more tables and a more comfortable play area than before. The game night schedule stayed the same through the move.
