New Force Comics

New Force Comics is a comic and collectibles shop at 402 Beech Mountain Pkwy Suite B in Beech Mountain, North Carolina. It focuses on new and back issue comics, and it also stocks Pokémon and Magic: The Gathering for card players. It suits readers who want a weekly pull of new books and collectors who like to browse figures, statues and cards under one roof.

What's on the shelves

Comics are the core of the store. Current issues and back issues are both on the racks, and the back-issue range runs through the Golden Age, Silver Age and Modern Age. New comics are discounted up to 35% off cover price.

Collectibles fill out the rest of the floor: Pops, action figures and statues. The statue and figure selection covers Star Wars, Star Trek, The Simpsons and superhero lines.

On the card side, the store carries Pokémon and Magic: The Gathering. It is also a Poke Stop for Pokémon Go players.

New comic book day

New comics come out on Wednesday, which is the day to plan a visit if the goal is a fresh pull. The discount on new releases applies to those weekly books.

History

The store has operated under the full name New Force Comics & Collectibles, and it previously had an address in Banner Elk, North Carolina. It is now on Beech Mountain Parkway in Beech Mountain.

The local scene

The closest game stores are in Boone, roughly 11 to 12 miles away: Ori's Game Corner and The Gamefather. Players looking for organized events will find them there, since New Force Comics has no weekly events or organized-play programs of its own.
