Nerdy Nomads Base Camp Game Store

Nerdy Nomads Base Camp Game Store is a trading card and tabletop game shop at 111 Main St in East Jordan, Michigan. It carries Pokémon and Magic: The Gathering in sealed product and singles, and it also stocks Dungeons & Dragons gear, dice and board games. Magic players get a regular Saturday draft, and the store ships orders within the United States.

What's on the shelves

Magic: The Gathering and Pokémon are the two core card games. For Magic, the store sells boosters, commander decks, pre-release kits, dice and a Foundations starter collection, along with Collector Booster Boxes for sets including The Hobbit and Star Trek. Pokémon stock covers booster packs, Elite Trainer Boxes, battle decks and accessories. Singles are sold for both games, from commons to holos and full arts on the Pokémon side and lands, creatures and spells across a wide range of sets for Magic.

Riftbound, the card game based on League of Legends, is stocked as well, with packs from the Vendetta set. Lorcana and One Piece are coming soon but are not on the shelves yet.

Role-playing is a real part of the floor. The store carries Chessex dice in a long list of colors, dice towers and trays, Dungeons & Dragons miniatures from the Nolzur's Marvelous Miniatures line, Pathfinder titles, paints and other RPG accessories. Staff will help newcomers choose a starter set. Collectibles, wearables, stationery, posters and stickers fill out the rest of the inventory, along with 3D printer items.

Magic drafts and events

The store runs Magic: The Gathering draft events built around specific sets, typically on Saturdays, and a Chaos Draft fills any Saturday that has no set draft scheduled. Draft entry is $30. Check-in is at noon, play starts at 1 PM, and events are estimated to finish around 5 PM. Space is limited to 12 players, so the pods stay small. Separate $5 Magic events are also held.

The set drafts scheduled this season include Reality Fracture on Saturday, October 3 and Reality Echoes on Saturday, October 24.

Loyalty program and discounts

The store runs a three-tier loyalty program. Points are earned on both in-store and online purchases, and customers can ask at the register to link an account. Bronze members, from 0 to 250 points, earn 1 point per dollar. Silver, from 251 to 999 points, earns 1.1 points per dollar plus 5% off food and drinks. Gold, at 1,000 points and up, earns 1.2 points per dollar plus 10% off food and drinks. New customers who sign up with an email address get 10% off a first order.

Ordering and shipping

The store sells online and ships to the United States. Orders are processed within 2 business days, excluding holidays, and orders placed after noon or on weekends may begin processing the next business day. Shipping charges are calculated by destination, weight and method, and free standard shipping may apply to selected orders. International orders are subject to customs duties and import taxes.
