Mystery Cards&Games

Mystery Cards&Games is a card and board game store in Plano, Texas. It is the physical storefront for the Mystery MTG retail operation, and it is a Wizards Play Network Premium store with a strong Magic: The Gathering focus. It suits Magic players who want local events, plus collectors and families looking for Pokémon, Lorcana, One Piece and Yu-Gi-Oh! product.

What's on the shelves

The store carries sealed product and singles for Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh! and the One Piece Card Game, and it also stocks Disney Lorcana. Board games are part of the mix too, and the store holds Asmodee Platinum status as a board game retailer. Tables are set up for in-person play, so the shop works as a place to sit down and play as well as a place to buy.

The store also runs a monthly wholesale program for a fee, under which members pay what the store pays for their favorite games and accessories. Every order earns 1% cash-back. Subscription crates of mystery product ship on the 30th of each month, with a cutoff on the 25th.

Organized play and events

The store is a Wizards Play Network Premium location and a Bandai TCG+ partner, and it is an authorized play partner for Disney Lorcana and Konami products as well. Every RCQ the store has hosted has sold out, and its weekly leagues draw strong attendance. The store is also working toward the MCG Mythic Invitations, a $5000 cEDH and Modern event held locally in Texas.

Store policies

Orders cancelled or refunded at a customer's request carry a 5% restocking fee. Singles cannot be returned, and refunds on sealed product are at the store's discretion, since it guards against resealed and tampered packs. The customer service phone line runs Monday through Sunday, 1 to 10 PM CST.

History

The business was born in 2018 and has grown into a community-focused brick-and-mortar operation. All full-time staff were slated to be offered healthcare, a 401k and milestone equity by December 2023, which makes employees co-owners over time. A themed cafe in Plano is also planned.
