Miso's Game Room

Miso's Game Room is a locally owned game and collectibles store at 8603 Citadel Way Ste 108 in Louisville, Kentucky. It spreads across two floors, with open gaming tables and terrain on the main level and a tournament hall upstairs. It suits Warhammer players first, with a solid second act in trading cards (Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, One Piece Card Game and Star Wars: Unlimited) and a strong side business in vintage toys and statues.

What's on the shelves

Trading cards are one of several departments. The store stocks Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, One Piece Card Game and Star Wars: Unlimited, along with sealed product, and sports cards and Pokémon and Magic singles are part of the mix. The rest of the floor is broad: Warhammer 40,000, Age of Sigmar, The Old World, Necromunda, Kill Team, StarCraft and Halo, with armies, single units, bits, rulebooks and the full Citadel, Vallejo, Army Painter and AK Interactive paint ranges. There are also board games and RPGs including D&D, Funko Pops, hobby supplies, premium statues and busts, and new and vintage toys covering Star Wars, Marvel, NECA, TMNT and more, plus Gundam and LARP weapons.

Hobby tables for painting in the store are available, with help on hand for beginners. Miniature painting night runs on Wednesdays.

Weekly play

Wednesday's session runs from 4 to 9 PM and the Friday Commander night runs until 10 PM, so both fill a good part of the evening.

Tabletop and events

The upstairs hall is set aside for Warhammer Rogue Trader tournaments, leagues and larger weekend events. Downstairs, open gaming tables with battle mats and terrain are free to use during store hours, with no reservation needed. Staff and regulars teach newcomers the games.

Buying, selling and trading

The buy side is aimed at collectibles, not cards. The store buys action figures, statues and vintage toys on the spot, paying in cash or store credit, with no appointment needed, though calling ahead helps. It does not buy trading cards, Pokémon, Magic or board games. Trades toward store credit carry a boosted value, and store credit never expires. Warhammer miniatures can be consigned and the store sells them on the owner's behalf; consignment is for Warhammer only.

A rewards program is also available.

Hours and getting there

Free parking is in the lot right out front, and the store closes on New Year's Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
