About
Legacy Games is a gaming and trading card store in Rosemount, Minnesota, in the strip mall at Claret Ave and County Road 42. It carries Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! alongside Dungeons & Dragons miniatures and a wall of video games, and it runs organized play four days a week. It suits Magic and Pokémon players who want a regular league or draft night, and collectors with cards or consoles to trade in.
Magic: The Gathering is stocked as booster packs and boxes, preconstructed decks, bulk lots, exclusive products and singles. Two large cases hold the cards, and alphabetized boxes hold more singles.
Pokémon singles live in 17 binders, sorted by Pokémon type and alphabetized, with higher-end and graded cards available too. The store also carries English and Japanese product, vintage sealed product, preconstructed decks, bulk lots, singles from every era (Wizards of the Coast cards included) and Pokémon-themed sleeves and binders. Yu-Gi-Oh! boosters and boxes are part of the mix as well.
Dungeons & Dragons gets a large miniatures selection, painted and unpainted, along with campaign and source books, starter sets, dice and dice trays, and miniature paint. The video game side runs from NES to Xbox Series X, with consoles old and new, controllers, cords, chargers and other accessories. The video game inventory list is updated daily. Handmade candles, wax melts, soap and succulent gardens, all made by store staff, round out the shelves.
The store buys video game consoles, games, accessories and trading cards, Magic and Pokémon included, for cash or in-store credit, and trading in cards earns additional trade value. Store credit never expires.
| Day | Time | Game | Format | Entry |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wednesday | Noon | Magic: The Gathering | Commander night, open play | Free |
| Friday | 5:30 PM | Magic: The Gathering | Friday Night Magic draft | $25 |
| Saturday | 2 PM | Magic: The Gathering | Chaos Draft | $25 |
| Sunday | 2 PM | Pokémon | League | Free |
Commander night runs noon to 9 PM, so players can come and go, and a promo pack lottery is drawn at random for entrants using the MTG Companion app.
The Friday and Saturday drafts both build decks from three packs passed around the table, with basic lands supplied. Each round win pays $6 in store credit, spendable on singles, sleeves, packs or anything else in stock. Friday play runs to 9:30 PM and Saturday play runs 2 PM to 6 PM. Pokémon League runs 2 PM to 5 PM, and players bring their own tournament-legal Standard deck; prize support depends on turnout.
Every dollar spent earns one Legacy Point. Points redeem for rewards that scale with the total:
