Knowhere Games & Comics

Knowhere Games & Comics is a comics and gaming shop at 125 Vallecitos de Oro in San Marcos, California, in business since fall 2016. It sells comic books, tabletop games, board games and a long list of trading card games, and it works as a community hub for gaming in North County San Diego. The shop suits card players who want a scheduled night of play, comic readers who like a low-cost way into a new series, and groups that need a table or a private room.

What's on the shelves

Trading card games carried include Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Weiss Schwarz, Force of Will, Card Fight Vanguard, Luck & Logic and Dice Masters. Beyond cards, the shelves cover comics, manga, role-playing games (Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, Shadowrun and the Star Wars role-playing lines), miniatures games such as HeroClix, X-Wing Miniatures and Warhammer 40k, plus action figures, statues, plush toys, blind box collectibles, dice, glassware, anime figures, card sleeves and other collectible supplies. The store buys and sells collectible and unique geek items, and staff will track down an item that is not on the shelf.

Comics are the store's other core. It sells store-exclusive variant covers, and a mail order service ships specific items or sets up weekly and storyline subscriptions by phone. Dollar #1 issues form a deep bin, and a finished #1 can be traded back for $1 off a trade paperback or hardcover.

Weekly play

The game room holds upwards of 40 players, with over a dozen open tables for public games. The October 2026 calendar shows a regular rhythm of card nights across the week.

Saturday and Friday evenings are the busiest, with several card games running back to back, and new comics arrive every Wednesday.

Organized play and events

A Delta Reign pre-release runs on the last Monday of October 2026 at 6 PM, with a second session on October 31 at 3:30 PM. Pathfinder Society sessions meet at 1 PM on select Sundays. The store also hosts signings with guests from the comic, manga and game-creating industries.

Space and rentals

Free gaming space is open to groups and friends, and several private rooms can be rented for parties and events. The store welcomes gamers of all ages, and parents have brought middle schoolers in for a first Magic tournament.
