Kitsap Comics And Games

Kitsap Comics and Games is a comics, games and collectibles store at 10315 Silverdale Way NW in Silverdale, Washington. It leans toward miniatures wargames and tabletop roleplaying, with Warhammer, Star Wars: Legion and Dungeons & Dragons at the center, and it also carries Star Wars: Unlimited. It suits players who want to learn a strategy game and pick up the pieces they need in the same visit.

What's on the shelves

The store's catalog runs to about 4,573 products, of which roughly 1,017 are in stock at a given time. That breadth shows up in the mix: Citadel and Warhammer paints at $4.55 for a 12 ML pot, loose and boxed model kits, and dice in every size, from 10mm mini sets at $4.99 to 16mm resin sets at $13.99 to $15.99. Card storage is stocked too, including a 100-count storage box at $1.25.

Collectible figures take up a good share of the featured stock. Recent examples include Star Wars: Black Series and Star Wars: Vintage Collection figures, Marvel Legends, G.I. Joe Classified, WWE Elite and Transformers Studio Series pieces, with prices from the low $20s into the $60s. Board and party games are on hand as well, such as Exploding Kittens at $20, along with BattleTech blind boxes at $9 and $10. The highest-priced item in the catalog is $600.

The one trading card game the store carries is Star Wars: Unlimited. A Secrets of Power booster pack, from the game's sixth set, sells for $5.00. Each pack holds 16 cards: 9 commons, 3 uncommons, 1 rare or top-rarity card, 1 leader, 1 base or token, and 1 foil.

Customers who want something not on the shelf can request it through the store's contact form.

Games played in the store

The store sets aside game time for learning and playing strategy games, aimed at people who have wanted to try one but don't know where to start. Three games are featured:

• Star Wars: Legion, a miniatures game of ground battles in the Galactic Civil War, played with unpainted, easily assembled minis.
• Warhammer Underworlds, a two-to-four player game in which each player builds a deck of power and objective cards and fights over hex-tiled boards across three rounds.
• Dungeons & Dragons, the roleplaying game, with a Dungeon Master refereeing a party of player-created heroes.

Anyone who needs a new character or unit to take part can buy it off the shelf, and items needed for the game are 10% off during game time. A Star Wars Unlimited Store Showdown is also part of the store's calendar.
