Kingslayer Games - Fountain Valley

Kingslayer Games in Fountain Valley is a family-owned game and hobby store in the Costco shopping center, with a trading card calendar that fills nearly every weeknight. It carries Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, Disney Lorcana, Flesh and Blood, Digimon, Star Wars: Unlimited and Dragon Ball Super, and it suits everyone from tournament regulars to beginners and families who come for board games.

What's on the shelves

Trading card games are the core of the store: Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, Disney Lorcana, Flesh and Blood, Digimon, Star Wars: Unlimited, Dragon Ball Super, Weiss Schwarz, Riftbound and Gundam. Tabletop roleplaying titles such as Dungeons & Dragons, Games Workshop products and a growing board game collection share the floor. Accessories cover binders, deck boxes, playmats, dice and card sleeves. Singles are sorted by condition, and Pokémon and Japanese Pokémon singles are stocked alongside Magic and One Piece singles. The store also sells by mail and ships orders by UPS Ground, USPS First Class, USPS Priority Mail or FedEx, usually within 1 to 2 business days, with free shipping on orders over $130.

Weekly play

Every day from Monday to Friday has something scheduled in the evening, and several nights run more than one game side by side.

The Magic tournaments run as Pauper on Thursdays and Modern on Fridays, while the casual nights are built around Commander.

Organized play and events

The store runs Pokémon League events, with a League Cup on Saturday, October 10 at 10 AM and a League Challenge on Tuesday, October 20 at 6:30 PM. The Mega Evolution: Delta Reign Prerelease is a sealed Build and Battle Box event with two sessions, Saturday, October 24 at 12 PM and Tuesday, October 27 at 6:30 PM. Entry is $40, every player receives 3 Delta Reign booster packs for finishing all 3 rounds, and a 3-0 record earns an extra Pitch Black booster pack.

Disney Lorcana and Star Wars: Unlimited are both supported programs. The Lorcana Monday slot alternates between Core Constructed and Hyperia City Sealed, which is $40 and capped at 32 players. Star Wars: Unlimited Wednesdays run Prerelease, Draft and the top-tier tournament event, and that last one gives each player a Weekly Play Pack and a booster pack. The store is also a Konami Official Tournament Store, so Yu-Gi-Oh! Advanced on Mondays hands each entrant 2 OTS Packs and awards the winner an OTS Winner's Pack.

Other formats run on specific dates. Riftbound Nexus Night meets on Sundays at 12 PM, and players must buy entry in advance to guarantee a seat. Flesh and Blood Armory caps at 24 players and requires a GEM account, One Piece Constructed caps at 32, and Friday Night Magic Modern holds 16 spots that can flex up with demand. Commander players on the Slay Pass nights receive 3 booster packs from the store's eligible selection. Wargamers can join the Fountain Valley Wargaming League, whose first 2026 season is made up of eight two-week Bi-Weeks.

Store policies

Event refunds require calling the store at least 3 hours before the start time, and cancellation requests sent through direct messages or social platforms are not accepted. Singles and any products containing sealed booster packs are final sale.

Squire Training is a free, personalized one-on-one Learn to Play session with a team member, which makes the store a practical first stop for newcomers.
