Imperial Comics & Games

Imperial Comics & Games is a comics and trading card shop at 105 N Lafayette St in Shelby, North Carolina. It sells comic books alongside trading card game singles and accessories, and its tournament calendar runs Wednesday through Sunday, which makes it a store for players who want a game night most evenings of the week. It suits both longtime comic readers and card players looking for a regular place to play.

What's on the shelves

Comics are a core part of the store, with Marvel, DC and independent titles on the racks. On the card side, the store sells singles, deck boxes and other accessories for the games it hosts. Those games are Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece Card Game, Digimon Card Game, Flesh and Blood and Dragon Ball Super Card Game. The store also sells online, so stock is not limited to what fits in the shop.

Weekly play

Tournaments run Wednesday through Sunday, and Saturday is the busiest day, with several events stacked from early afternoon into the evening.

The Sunday Union Arena event starts right after the One Piece tournament wraps, so one afternoon can cover both.
