Hidden Table Games

Hidden Table Games is a hobby store at 246 Rainbow Dr in Silverthorne, Colorado, that puts board games, trading cards and tabletop wargaming under one roof. It runs a play space with room for about 50 players, a lending library of more than 200 games, and events most nights of the week. It suits card players who want somewhere to sit and play, families learning a first game, and anyone with a shoebox of Magic or Pokémon cards to sell.

What's on the shelves

Trading card games are the core of the shelf: Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, One Piece Card Game, Shadowverse Evolve and Riftbound, sold as singles and sealed product. A retail wall carries new board game releases and classics, and the store also serves tabletop wargamers with Warhammer 40k, Kill Team and Battletech on terrain-ready tables.

A display case holds premium and graded cards, and the contents change often.

Buying and trading

Trade-ins need no appointment. Bring singles or a full collection during store hours and the staff evaluates condition and current market value with you at the counter. The store buys Magic: The Gathering and Pokémon singles, collections and sealed product, and some other card games as well.

Select high-value cards can earn an extra premium.

Weekly play and events

Something is scheduled nearly every night: Magic, Pokémon, board game nights, wargames and tournaments with prize support. Entry fees, formats and prizes vary by event, and one recurring slot is fixed on the calendar.

Learn-to-play events for Pokémon and Magic: The Gathering and a weekly Dungeons & Dragons one-shot night give new players a way in.

Sunday Commander, sealed leagues, and paint and build classes also run on the calendar. Seasonal events include a Miniature Basing Competition with a $15 entry and kids summer camps. An MTG Regional Championship Qualifier in the Modern format is also scheduled.

Open play and membership

Whenever the store is open, the play space is open. A day pass costs $5 and covers all-day access to the space and the game lending library, and players are welcome to bring their own games. No membership is needed just to visit.

The Open Play Membership costs $30 a month. It includes free open play every day, in-store locker rental, priority access to special events and access to TCG sealed leagues. A $100 monthly Sim Racing & eSports membership adds sim racing rigs and eSports stations, run in partnership with Peak Sim Sports.

One distinction matters at the table. Membership covers open play only, meaning unscheduled play, board game nights, casual Commander and Standard, and miniature building and painting. Tournaments, Sunday Commander, classes and sealed league play are separate events that can carry their own entry fee.
