Greg's Games

Greg's Games is a game store at 2103 Whitehorse Mercerville Rd in the Trenton area of New Jersey, built around trading card games, miniatures and tabletop play. It carries Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece Card Game, Disney Lorcana and Flesh and Blood, and it runs a full week of tournaments and casual nights. It suits players looking for a weeknight event in almost any of those games, and collectors who want to sell a stack of cards without an appointment.

What's on the shelves

Trading cards are the core of the store, in both singles and sealed product, with supplies to match: sleeves, binders, deck boxes and storage, and playmats and tubes. Alongside the card games the store sells Games Workshop miniatures, including Age of Sigmar and Warhammer 40,000, plus painting and modelling supplies, board games, dice and role-playing game books, accessories and miniatures.

Collectible products, meaning singles and sealed trading card product, are priced at or near market, based on recent verified sales. Other products are priced from wholesale and replacement costs rather than the manufacturer's suggested retail price. High-demand sealed product can carry daily purchase limits per account. A Lorcana booster box, for example, is limited to four per account per day.

Weekly play

Events fill most of the week, with Tuesday the busiest night for competitive play.

The Magic nights run as Modern on Wednesday, Commander on Thursday and Legacy on Friday.

Smaller weekly events run beyond the table above. Sunday afternoons add Final Fantasy and Riftbound constructed events, and a Pokémon VGC doubles event runs Sunday at 11:30 AM. Wednesday evenings also include a Gundam constructed night.

Special events

Larger events fill the weekends. A Magic Reality Fracture Store Championship in the Standard format runs on Saturday, October 31 at 11 AM. A Magic Regional Championship Qualifier in the Standard format follows on Saturday, November 14 at 11 AM. A One Piece release event for OP-18 is set for Saturday, November 21 at 11 AM.

Star Trek pre-release events run across the first weekend of November: sealed events on Friday, November 6 at 6:30 PM, and on Saturday, November 7 at 11 AM and 4 PM. On Sunday, November 8 there is a sealed event at 4 PM and a two-headed giant event at 11 AM. A Cyberpunk pre-release follows on Friday, November 13 at 6:30 PM.

Buying cards

The store buys Pokémon and One Piece cards at 50 percent of value in cash or 60 percent in store credit, with credit-only offers on other games. Offers can land above or below those baselines depending on condition, stock levels and demand for the card. Small collections are welcome as walk-ins during regular hours, while collections of about 50 or more cards, or collections of significantly high value, should be arranged by appointment with the head buyer.

Store policies

Purchases can be returned for a full refund within 30 days, in the original payment method. After 30 days, returns are for store credit only, and clearance sales are final. Collectible and trading card products, loose miniatures, books, magazines and gift cards cannot be returned or exchanged.

Most of the business is in store, and only trading card singles ship. A rewards program earns 1 point for every $1.00 spent, redeemable for rewards and discounts, with a birthday reward each year. Points accrue only on singles orders picked up and paid for in the store.
