Gilded Raven Games

Gilded Raven Games is a card and tabletop game store at 120 Cedar Grove Ln in Somerset, New Jersey. It is built around trading card games and miniature wargaming, with Magic: The Gathering, Flesh and Blood and Pokémon as the headline games and a running calendar of play nights. It suits singles hunters and sealed-product buyers, and anyone who wants a Warhammer table to play at.

What's on the shelves

Singles are the core of the stock, and new singles arrive daily. Magic: The Gathering and Flesh and Blood each have their own singles section, and Pokémon singles range from budget cards to chase pieces. A Charizard VMAX from Sword & Shield: Shining Fates in near mint condition is priced at $109.00, while the Darkness Ablaze version of the same card runs $39.25. Japanese-language Pokémon product is carried too, including cards from VMAX Climax and the Charizard VSTAR vs Rayquaza VMAX special deck set.

Cardfight Vanguard has a deep singles selection of 273 items, with cards from sets such as Dragonsoul Resonance and Lyrical Monasterio, many priced at $2.00 to $5.75. Riftbound singles are also stocked.

Sealed Magic is a real part of the business. The sealed Magic section holds 30 items, from an Avatar: The Last Airbender Beginner Box at $34.99 to a FINAL FANTASY Commander Deck: Collector's Edition Display at $800.00. Commander decks from the Fallout: Out of the Vault line run from $49.99 to $89.99. Flesh and Blood boxes such as Compendium of Rathe are $99.99.

Beyond cards, the store carries board games, including Sky Team and Secret Hitler, along with miniature games and paints and painting supplies. Warhammer product is a big category: Battleforce boxes for factions such as the World Eaters, Death Guard, Thousand Sons and Emperor's Children are priced at $212.50 each. Some products, including Omens of the Third Age booster displays, are available for in-store pickup only. Preorders are taken, and the store runs a buylist for people looking to sell cards.

Events

The events calendar is the other half of the store. Event categories include Warhammer Wednesday, Flesh and Blood, Cardfight Vanguard, Gundam TCG, Palworld, Neuroscape, Summoner Skirmish and Prerelease, plus challenge events and others that fall outside those groups. Warhammer Wednesday is a standing weekly night. Times and entry fees vary by event.
