Get Some Game

Get Some Game is a card shop at 1224 Commercial Ave in Charlotte, North Carolina, built around free open play and an event on the calendar every night of the week. It carries Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Disney Lorcana, and it is an official Wizards Play Network store. It suits players who want a table to sit at without paying for it, and Magic players with a collection to turn into credit.

What's on the shelves

The store sells singles and sealed product for all four of its games, and every card sold is checked for authenticity. The business has been in the card business for more than thirteen years, and it began online, shipping over 50,000 orders, before the doors opened on Commercial Ave. The owners run the cases and the buylist themselves.

Trade-ins are for Magic: The Gathering only, covering singles, sealed product and bulk in any amount and any condition. No appointment is needed. Cards are priced on the spot with high-speed scanning against the live market, and the seller can take cash or store credit. Credit carries a standing 20% bonus over cash and never expires. Trade-ins for other games are not offered.

Events and organized play

The store is a Wizards Play Network location, and its calendar mixes weekly tournaments, learn-to-play nights and open tables on every day it is open. Events can be registered for online and paid for on arrival.

Three events are scheduled for early November 2026:

Each of the three is capped at 32 seats, so the larger prerelease nights fill a defined room rather than an open-ended one.

The space and house rules

Play is free every day with no table fees. The shop has a comfortable seating area, drink and snack machines on site, and room for big turnouts. The store works as a community hub first, and the policy that backs that up is simple: no one pays to sit and play.

Hours and getting there

The shop is closed on Saturdays, so the Saturday release event on November 7 is an exception to the usual schedule.

The store is at 1224 Commercial Ave, Charlotte, NC 28205.
