Games Mothership

Games Mothership is a trading card game store inside Superstition Springs Center in Mesa, Arizona, built around organized play, private coaching and a paid membership. It carries eight card games and runs Friday-night Commander and Modern events, with a Disney Lorcana event on a Saturday late morning. It suits new players who want someone to teach them a game, and regulars who want a steady event schedule.

Games and what the store carries

The store supports Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, One Piece Card Game, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Disney Lorcana, Dragon Ball Super Card Game, Digimon Card Game and Star Wars: Unlimited. Beginners get their own entry point: the store has learn-to-play material for Pokémon, Magic, One Piece and Yu-Gi-Oh!, and the coaching program extends the same idea to other games the store supports.

Events

The November 2026 calendar shows how the store schedules play. Friday evenings are the main draw, with Commander and Modern alternating, and a Lorcana event fills a Saturday late morning.

Sanctioned events follow each publisher's official tournament rules, formats and banned lists, and the store operates as an independent retailer with no affiliation to the game publishers.

Private coaching

Coaching is the store's most distinctive offering. A one-on-one session runs one hour and costs $55, for kids and adults at any experience level. Sessions cover learning a game from scratch, tuning a deck, working through sequencing and resource decisions, and preparing for a tournament, with matchup analysis and feedback on decisions built in.

The coaching staff is split by game. One coach is a newer Pokémon Professor who has played the Pokémon TCG competitively for three years. Another is working toward Magic: The Gathering judge certification and has a long background in Star Wars collectibles. A third plays and collects across Magic, One Piece and Gundam. A fourth is a Certified Lore Guide who has played Lorcana since launch and has multiple Top 8 finishes at Lorcana championships, with a finish as high as 3rd. Sessions can be booked by game or by coach and are confirmed by email.

Membership

Membership costs $100 a month, billed monthly. It takes 10% off products and 20% off event entry, so it pays for itself fastest for players who attend several events a month.

Hours and getting there

The store is at 6671 E Baseline Rd, Suite 101, Mesa, AZ 85206, inside Superstition Springs Center. Wednesday hours run 2 PM to 8 PM, and the store is closed Monday and Tuesday. Friday event nights run until 8 PM.

Community and young players

The store is a community space for players, collectors and families, with coaching open to kids. Written conduct expectations apply to everyone in the space, and events are run by staff with judge-track experience, which helps on rules questions.
