Gamer’s Choice

Gamer's Choice is a Yu-Gi-Oh!-focused card store at 34-09 Queens Blvd in New York City, on the Queens side of the Long Island City, Sunnyside and Woodside corner. It runs a physical shop alongside a larger online operation, and it suits collectors who want singles and sealed product in North American English print, with Pokémon on the shelves as well.

What's on the shelves

Yu-Gi-Oh! is the store's main game. Pokémon is carried too, and Magic is a newer category the store has been moving into. Stock is sold as singles and as sealed product, and everything is North American English print unless a product description says otherwise.

How the store runs

The retail location doubles as the pickup point for online orders. Local pickup is free, and customers get an email when an order is ready, with pickup instructions. Bring a valid ID and the order confirmation email.

Sales are firm. Orders cannot be modified, canceled or refunded once placed, and returns are accepted only when the item received differs from its description. Changes to a shipping address, name or email can be requested within 24 hours of placing an order. Damaged or lost orders are handled case by case.

Preorders are final too, with no cancellations for any reason. They ship on the product's official release date, usually a Friday, and arrive within 3 to 5 business days by standard shipping. Every preorder is filled in full regardless of what happens to the price.

For orders that ship, processing takes 1 to 3 business days. Standard shipping on singles is $4.99 and free on singles orders over $50. Sealed product ships for a flat $10.00. Hawaii standard shipping is $9.99, and international express shipping is $50, with import duties and taxes falling to the buyer.

Hours and getting there

The shop is open on Saturdays and Sundays. Pickups on weekdays can be arranged by appointment, between 10 AM and 5 PM Monday through Friday. The address is 34-09 Queens Blvd.

The store aims to be a place where the gaming community can gather, play and compete in a friendly way, though no recurring weekly events or organized-play programs are confirmed.

The local scene

Several shops sit within a mile. Everyone Comics x Collectibles and Everyone Comics are both about 0.6 miles away, as is Collective Collectables in Woodside. Paper Pop Cards in Long Island City and Comic Book Heaven in Sunnyside are about 0.8 miles out.

The New York Evolving TCG Show follows on November 14, 5.3 miles away, and the Project TCG Pokemon Card Show at Queens College on November 15, also 6 miles away.
