Game Night Games

Game Night Games is a game and hobby store at 2148 South 900 East, Suite 2, in Salt Lake City, with a stock that runs from board games to collectible card games, role-playing games, miniatures and accessories. Board games are the store's strongest suit, with a deep selection, but the collectible card game shelves cover Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon and Star Wars: Unlimited, and a Game Room gives players space to sit down and play. It suits families, casual tabletop players and card players who want one stop for both.

What's on the shelves

The shelves cover board games, card games, collectible card games, role-playing games, miniatures games and the accessories that go with them: card sleeves, dice, paints and brushes. Board games are organized by type, including party games, solo-mode games, travel games, children's games, classic games and historical games, and the store also sells playing cards. Warhammer has its own section.

On the card side, Magic: The Gathering is the most developed. Its shelves are broken out by set and product line, including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Secrets of Strixhaven, The Hobbit, Marvel Super Heroes, Reality Fracture and Star Trek. Pokémon has its own section, along with other collectible card games and a section of single cards. Dungeons & Dragons and other role-playing games sit alongside dice and trays, paint supplies, and supplies for board games, card games and role-playing games.

The store also stocks jigsaw puzzles from publishers including Eurographics, Hachette, Springbok, Thames and Kosmos, USAopoly and University Games, plus puzzle games like the Exit series and brainteasers like Rubik's Cubes. Gift cards are available.

Events and preorders

Magic: The Gathering releases are the store's biggest event draw. The Star Trek prerelease runs across the weekend of November 6 to 8, 2026, in five sessions. The two Sunday sessions are team events, and the entry price covers a team of two, which works out to the same per-player cost as the Saturday sessions.

Disney Lorcana also has an event: a Hyperia City Collection Quest on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 1 PM, costing $20.99 plus tax, with 3 packs included and a limit of 16 players.

Preorders for upcoming products are for in-store pickup only. Current listings include a Star Trek play booster display of 30 packs at $199.99 and a Marvel: Darkhold Destiny booster display of 30 at $179.99.

How the store runs

Products come from verified distributors or directly from publishers, so what is on the shelf is official product in its original packaging. The store follows publishers' requests for sale and service. For a problem inside the packaging, the store points customers to the publisher first, which will either help directly or send the customer back to the store for a return or exchange.

Supply on popular games is not always steady. Quantities are often allocated, meaning the store may receive only a portion of what it orders, and many products are printed overseas, where an average print run can take 6 to 8 months to arrive.

Local customers can buy online and pick up in store, including same-day pickup on puzzles, and select products ship within the United States.

The Game Room

The Game Room is open to everyone, whether for an organized event or just to hang out and try out some of the store's titles. The store encourages players to say what would make the space more comfortable.
