Game Guys

Game Guys is a card, collectibles and gaming shop inside the Almeda Mall at 444 Almeda Mall in Houston. Its card side centers on One Piece Card Game and Dragon Ball Super Card Game, and it shares the space with Funko Pops, anime figures, console repair, custom arcade builds and an esports area. It suits players who want a mall-based place to buy product and play, and families or gamers who want more than cards under one roof.

What's on the shelves

The card shelves hold booster packs, starter decks and collector's editions from several popular trading card games, with One Piece Card Game and Dragon Ball Super Card Game as the confirmed lines. Accessories include card sleeves, deck boxes, playmats and dice.

Beyond cards, the store carries a wide range of Funko Pops and anime figures, including One Piece, Dragonball, Naruto, MHA, Miku and Demon Slayer. Staff can help with deck-building questions and updates on new expansions.

Events and tournaments

The store hosts trading card game tournaments and video game tournaments in its own space. Dates and times for the card events are still to be announced, so there is no fixed weekly card night to point to yet.

The esports side is more developed. Fighting game community tournaments include Smash, and League of Legends tournaments are an announced expansion. Sports game and virtual reality gaming events round out the lineup.

Other services

Game Guys is also a working repair shop, which sets it apart from most card stores. Console repair is done at component level, with no diagnosis fee for any repair. Customers outside the area can mail consoles in with contact details inside the package. Cleaning is available alone or with a repair. Arcade and retro console repairs are paused until further notice.

Prices can change when a console has several issues, and a customer can back out of a repair at any time.

The store also builds custom arcade cabinets: bartops starting at $999, full-size 6-foot cabinets starting at $1,499, and pedestal cabinets starting at $1,499, with 3/4 scale models available. It converts full-size arcades and 1UP cabs as well. Parties can be booked at the store.

Store policies

Repair payment is taken when the work is finished. Customers earn loyalty points on purchases and receive text updates when points are earned or used. The store does not sell or rent customer personal data.
