First Capitol Cards

First Capitol Cards is a card and game shop at 110 N Elm St in downtown Corydon, Indiana, carrying Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, One Piece Card Game and sports cards. It also stocks sealed product, board games and the supplies that go with them, and it keeps a growing play space in the store. It suits collectors and players in Corydon who want a local shop for singles, slabs and sealed product, plus a place to sit down and play.

What's on the shelves

Magic is the most fully built-out category, with singles, graded cards and sealed product all stocked. Pokémon and One Piece each have their own sections, and sports cards cover rookies, autographs, parallels, sealed boxes and slabs across the sports collectors follow. Board games fill out the rest of the floor, from family-night picks to strategy games.

Accessories include sleeves, deck boxes, binders and playmats. Inventory can be searched by game, set, condition, finish, grade and player, and orders are taken with secure checkout, so a card can be checked for before making the trip. Magic singles run from bulk-priced commons at a few cents up to showcase pieces. The showcase holds standout cards and in-store-only collectibles that are worth seeing in person.

The play space and trading

The store has a growing play space, and staff can tell you about table availability. Customers are invited to bring a want list and talk trades, which makes the shop as much a place to deal with other local collectors as a place to buy.

Hours and getting there

The store is open Tuesday through Saturday and closed Sunday and Monday. Holiday and event hours can differ from the usual schedule.

The 8 PM close on weeknights makes the shop workable after a day job, which is not a given for a hobby store.
