Express Tcg

Express TCG is a locally owned, veteran owned trading card game store at 616 Edgefield Rd, Suite 150, in the Belvedere area of North Augusta, South Carolina. It carries nine card games from Pokémon and Magic: The Gathering to One Piece and Disney Lorcana, adds tabletop miniatures and board games, and runs a steady calendar of prereleases and organized events. It suits newcomers who want someone to teach them a game as much as players who want a store with a regular event schedule.

What's on the shelves

The card game range covers Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece Card Game, Disney Lorcana, Flesh and Blood, Digimon Card Game, Star Wars: Unlimited and Dragon Ball Super Card Game. Gundam and Riftbound: League of Legends are part of the lineup too. Inventory changes regularly, and the store stocks new releases, sealed product, singles, accessories, collectibles and supplies such as binders, card sleeves, deck boxes, dice and playmats.

Beyond cards, the store has a tabletop side. Warhammer Age of Sigmar and Halo: Flashpoint are on the shelves, along with Warhammer supplies and Army Painter paints and tools. Board games, Dungeons & Dragons and a large Lego range, including minifigure blind boxes and building sets, round out the non-card stock. Gift-type items such as Nanoblock and Blokees building sets and blind bags of mystery dice are also stocked.

Buying and trading

The store takes singles in trade for store credit at 70% of market value, or for cash at 50% of market value. Eligible singles come from Digimon, Flesh and Blood, Lorcana, Magic: The Gathering, One Piece and Pokémon. The store looks for singles worth $2 or more at market value, in Moderately Played condition or better. Cards from a new set are not accepted until two weeks after the official release date. Market value is set from market price, lowest listing and recent sales, and the associate's valuation is final. Large collections may need to be left with the store while they are processed.

Bulk is accepted for Magic: The Gathering and Pokémon at these rates:

Store credit works on anything in the store.

Events

The calendar mixes casual community nights, learn-to-play sessions, prereleases, league events, tournaments and store championships. Learn-to-play events walk new players through how cards work and how a game is played, with tips along the way. Recent and upcoming events include a Commander night, a Riftbound skirmish, Pokémon League Cup and League Challenge events, a Cyberpunk TCG release event, One Piece events and a Flesh and Blood Pro Quest. Entry fees on those run from $10 to $40. Prereleases are scheduled for Pokémon, Riftbound, Cyberpunk, Lorcana and Dragon Ball Fusion World. Event entry can be prepaid online.

Store policies

Preorders are charged at the time of purchase and carry a lowest price guarantee: if the price drops, the difference comes back as store credit. Release dates are supplier estimates, and preorders are subject to supplier allocation. A preorder that needs to be cancelled is refunded as store credit only.

In-store purchases are final. Online orders can be returned within 10 days of receiving the item, provided it is unused and in its original packaging, and sale items cannot be refunded. Cancelling an in-stock online order before it ships carries a 5% fee. Domestic online orders ship for a flat $5.

Hours and getting there

The store is open every day, though hours can shift around event times.

The store sits in Suite 150 at 616 Edgefield Rd. A second Express TCG location operates at 710 Point Bluff Parkway, Suite 1, in Harlem, Georgia.
