Exiled Games

Exiled Games is a card and tabletop game store in Herkimer, New York, open Wednesday through Sunday with evening hours on weekdays and shorter afternoon hours on the weekend. It carries Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, Dragon Ball Super Card Game, One Piece Card Game, Digimon Card Game, Weiss Schwarz and Flesh and Blood, and it buys cards as well as selling them, which makes it a practical stop for a player with a binder to move.

What's on the shelves

The store sells singles and sealed product across its seven games, and online orders can be picked up in the shop. Booster boxes, decks and singles are final sales once bought. Sealed product is the exception: it can be returned within 7 days of purchase for a full refund or exchange, with proof of purchase. If the purchase was made with a card, the store can look it up.

Buying cards

The store buys Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, Dragon Ball Super and Fusion, One Piece, Digimon, Weiss Schwarz, Final Fantasy, Union Arena, Flesh and Blood and Shadowverse. Payouts for Magic and Pokémon are a share of the going market price: 50% on cards of $5 and over, 25% on cards under $5. For every other game, the payout is 50% of the difference between the lowest current listing and the market price.

Store credit is not issued, so every buy transaction is completed on the spot. Cards must be unsleeved before they come in so their condition can be graded; a binder or a box works as long as the cards are out of their sleeves. Sellers with a large collection are advised to call ahead. The store does not buy bulk commons and uncommons, and it is not accepting bulk donations while it reworks its bulk storage.

Store policies

Preorders must be paid for at the time of ordering. They can be canceled up to 5 days before release for a full refund, minus a 10% restocking fee. Online pickup orders have to be collected within 7 days of being submitted, though the window can sometimes be extended case by case, and an uncollected order is canceled with the same 10% restocking fee.

House rules are mostly about protecting cards and keeping the room comfortable:

• Outside drinks are not allowed, but liquids can be brought in a thermos or other washable container.
• No food or drinks are allowed on the table during events.
• Players may not sell cards to each other in the store, though they can buy product or a gift card for another player in exchange for cards.
• Players in events are expected to keep up good hygiene and avoid strong odors.
• Headphones are required if a listening device is used, and many events do not allow phones or listening devices at all, so players should check their game's floor rules.
• Language and conversation should suit a public place.
