Eclipse Cards & Hobby

Eclipse Cards & Hobby is a local game store in North Richland Hills, Texas, in suite 280 at 9155 Blvd 26. It carries ten trading card games, runs a tournament most nights of the week, and stays open late on weekends, which makes it a practical fit for players who want somewhere to play on a Friday or Saturday night. The store's aim is to be a place where new and longtime players share the hobby, and the event calendar reflects that.

What's on the shelves

Singles and sealed product are stocked for Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece Card Game, Disney Lorcana, Flesh and Blood, Digimon Card Game, Star Wars: Unlimited, Dragon Ball Super Card Game and Weiss Schwarz. Sealed product is sold in the store only. Beyond cards, the shelves hold anime figures, Funko, Gundam kits and plushies, along with accessories and a small range of board games and Dungeons & Dragons items.

Singles are graded on a five-step scale: Near Mint, Lightly Played, Moderately Played, Heavily Played and Damaged. Near Mint means a card looks fresh out of the pack, and Lightly Played allows slight border or corner wear with fewer than four total flaws. Damaged cards show tears, bends or creases that could make them illegal for tournament play. The store accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, PayPal and Google Wallet.

Weekly play

Weekly tournaments run every day of the week, with the heaviest nights on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The Friday Magic draft price varies with the format, and some entries are priced per box rather than per player.

The calendar goes beyond these tournaments. Sundays at 1 PM, a free board game group meets. Dungeons & Dragons runs free on Wednesdays at 7 PM. Union Arena, Dragon Ball Super Fusion World, Gundam TCG, Shadowverse: Evolve, Riftbound and Palworld also have recurring slots, and not every tournament appears on the posted calendar, so a call to the store is the way to ask about one that isn't listed.

Special events

Bigger one-off events are sold as entries in the store. Recent and upcoming entries include a Pokémon League Challenge, a Digimon Evo Cup that is played as best of three with a pack awarded per win, and a Flesh and Blood Skirmish played as Swiss with a top cut and promo prizes. Magic: Commander Roulette hands each entrant a random precon and awards a pack per elimination. A Dragon Ball Super Fusion World pre-release event for Brightness of Hope is also on the schedule.

Regional Champion Qualifier 2026 dates for Magic fall on Saturday, September 12, Saturday, October 10, and Sunday, November 8. The qualifier starts at noon, with check-in opening at 11 AM and closing at 11:50 AM. Pirate Party 2026, a free One Piece event, is capped at 16 players, first come, first served. A Lorcana collection quest rewards players who open packs and trade to collect every card in the set for a special promo, and a Cyberpunk TCG pre-release requires sign-up in the store.
