Discover Games

Discover Games is a tabletop game store and play hall at 145 Thomas Trl in Fayetteville, Georgia, serving the south side of the Atlanta area. It leans toward board games, miniature games and hobby painting, with room to sit down and play, and it suits families and tabletop regulars more than singles hunters.

What's on the shelves

The store carries a large selection of tabletop games and hobby supplies, with more than 3000 items in stock. If a title is not on the shelf, the store will try to order it.

The catalog is broad on the board game side, with games from publishers such as Stonemaier Games, Plaid Hat Games, Renegade Games, Z-Man Games, Steve Jackson Games, Ravensburger, Paizo and Monolith. Wizards of the Coast and Upper Deck product lines are part of the range, along with Ultra Pro supplies.

Miniature games are a strong suit. The shelves include Marvel: Crisis Protocol, Privateer Press, Monsterpocalypse, Dystopian Wars, Wild West Exodus, Warcradle and Warlord Games, plus Moonstone and its Fjord Serpents faction, with starters, booster sets and rulebooks.

Hobby painters are covered too. The store sells The Army Painter Warpaints, Quickshade inks, shades, metallics and effects paints, along with Citadel-style paints and a range of brushes, from basecoating and highlighting brushes to the Wargamer monster and character brushes. Paints run from about $3 to $8 a pot. Gift cards are available.

Events

The store runs regular weekly events. They include game demonstrations, tabletop crafting and hobby workshops, collectible card game competitions, tabletop league play and social gaming gatherings. Specific days, times and entry fees change, so anyone planning around a particular game should confirm the night before heading over.

Space and approach

Discover Games offers an alternative to screen-focused gaming. The space to play with friends and family is as much a part of the draw as the retail floor, and the aim is to be the leading tabletop game store on the south side of Atlanta.
