About
Dice Age Games is a veteran-owned game and hobby store in Vancouver, Washington, in operation since 2011. It sits at 10411 NE Fourth Plain Blvd #127 and covers miniatures, collectible card games, board games and dice, with Magic: The Gathering and Pokémon the card games on its shelves. It suits Magic players looking for a Friday-night Commander crowd, Pokémon players who want a Sunday session, and miniatures and tabletop hobbyists who would rather play in a store than at home.
Collectible card games sit alongside a broad tabletop stock. Magic: The Gathering and Pokémon are the card games carried, and the catalog also includes Dungeons & Dragons and other role-playing games, board games sorted by competitive, cooperative and two-player play, and the full Games Workshop range: Warhammer 40,000, Warhammer Age of Sigmar, Warhammer The Old World, Kill Team, Legions Imperialis, Necromunda and Underworld/Warcry. Dice and dice bags are a specialty, as are books and magazines on fiction, modeling and painting.
For card players, the accessory wall covers sleeves, deck boxes and playmats. Hobby supplies include paint, paint brushes, hobby tools, magnets, and bases and basing materials, plus scatter terrain for tabletop gaming across settings from sci-fi to wild west.
Magic is the anchor of the card schedule, and the store's calendar fills most days with some kind of organized play.
| Day | Time | Game | Format |
|---|---|---|---|
| Thursday | 5 PM to 9 PM | Magic: The Gathering | Historics |
| Friday | 4 PM to 11 PM | Magic: The Gathering | EDH/Commander, open to all players |
| Sunday | Noon to 4 PM | Pokémon | Play session |
| Thursday | 10 AM to 9 PM | Warhammer 40,000 | Open play, all players welcome |
The Friday Magic tournament starts at 4 PM and the Commander play runs into the late evening, which lines up with the store's Friday closing time of 11 PM, the latest of the week.
The calendar is heavily tabletop. Role-playing groups meet for Dungeons & Dragons on several days, with Dungeon Crawl Classics, Pathfinder and Starfinder Society groups on Sundays and a Fallout RPG session on Mondays. Monday evenings also bring BattleTech and Alpha Strike, and Wednesday evenings bring Warmachine. Saturday mornings from 10 AM to noon are given over to a scale-model building group open to all comers, covering cars, military subjects, aircraft, sci-fi, armor and ships in plastic, wood and metal.
The store also runs paid painting classes. An October session on wet blending is $20 for two hours, with a miniature, paints and brushes included.
A loyalty rewards program earns points on pre-tax in-store purchases, with points that do not expire unless the membership is deactivated. Gift cards, food, drinks and alcoholic beverages do not earn points. Members must be at least 13, and the program is open to U.S. residents.
Orders can be placed online and picked up in store, with customers notified when an order is ready. The store aims to be a safe space free from discrimination, criticism and harassment, and it hosts regular events and tournaments with prizes.
The store is open seven days a week.
