About
Dan's Sports Cards & Games is a family-owned card shop at 2740 Park St in Jacksonville's historic Riverside neighborhood, just outside downtown. It has been in business since 1996 and covers a wide range: sports cards from dollar boxes to vintage high-end pieces, a deep wall of trading card games, and display cases of pop culture collectibles. It suits sports card collectors, card game players, and anyone with a collection to sell.
Sports cards are the founding business, and the stock spans every type of collector, from one dollar boxes to six-figure vintage cards and the latest hot rookies. Sealed wax is a core category, with hobby boxes, jumbo boxes, mega boxes and blasters across baseball, football, basketball, racing, golf and wrestling releases. Upper Deck products are sold in the store only, so anyone after those has to come in person.
One wall is given over to trading card games: Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece Card Game and Digimon Card Game. Sealed Magic and Pokémon product runs from booster boxes to collector booster boxes.
The display cases go well beyond cards. They hold bobbleheads, Funko Pops, Beanie Babies, comic books, and Loungefly bags, including Pokémon-themed backpacks and crossbody bags. Authenticated signatures are also for sale, with names that include Ty Cobb, Honus Wagner, Babe Ruth, Michael Jordan, Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe and John Wayne.
The store buys single cards and full collections and pays cash the same day. Appraisals are free and no-pressure, and sellers can send photos ahead of time or bring items to the counter. For serious collections of $5,000 or more, the owners travel to the seller to close the deal.
The store also runs live group breaks.
The store hosts in-store events for players, and its inventory is a draw for the local game community. No fixed weekly schedule or sanctioned organized-play program is confirmed.

The surrounding part of Riverside has many walkable shops and restaurants.
Dan's Sports Cards & Games opened March 1, 1996. The founder bought his first baseball cards in 1981 at age nine and started selling in the mid 1980s, renting booths at area card shows and tables at flea markets, and keeping track of what each customer collected. He was studying finance at the University of North Florida when he decided he would rather trade baseball cards than stocks, and the store followed at age 23. It remains family-owned.
Several other collectible shops sit close by. Coliseum of Comics is in the same immediate area, Black Cat Comics is about half a mile away, and Jacksonville Sports Cards and Action Toys and Collectibles are each about 2.3 miles away. Ttopz Video Game Repairs & Hdmi Replacement is 2.2 miles out. For a bigger floor, the Poke’Ville Card Show, about 58.7 miles away, has dates starting October 31, November 7 and November 14, 2026.
