Chibi Collect

Chibi Collect is a card shop in Bradenton, Florida, set up for Pokémon, One Piece, Magic: The Gathering and a handful of other card games, with anime collectibles, board games and imported Japanese snacks on the side. It sits in the Apollo Center plaza on US-41 and has a dedicated play area that seats at least 24 players. It suits collectors who want sealed product in several languages and players looking for a free, beginner-friendly night out.

What's on the shelves

Sealed product is the core of the stock. Pokémon comes in English, Japanese, Korean and Chinese editions: booster packs, Elite Trainer Boxes, booster boxes, tins and collection boxes. One Piece Card Game product is carried in English and Japanese, covering booster boxes, packs and starter decks. Disney Lorcana is stocked as booster packs, booster boxes, starter decks and gift sets, and the shelves also carry Magic: The Gathering, Dragon Ball Super Card Game and Weiss Schwarz.

The store sells no Pokémon or One Piece singles for now, and it does not buy or trade collections; it is a retail shop. Preorders and holds are not offered, so stock is first come, first served. Packs can be opened at the counter or in the play space.

Beyond cards, the store sells anime figures, plushies and kawaii gifts, along with imported Japanese candy, chips and drinks. Board games, Dungeons & Dragons and dice and accessories round out the shelves.

Weekly play

Every weekly event welcomes new players, and the staff will help a newcomer choose a deck or learn the basics from a starter deck before play begins.

Organized play and events

The store runs official Play! Pokémon events alongside Sunday open play, and hosts Pokémon tournaments, prerelease events and set-launch events through the year. Open play and game nights are free, while tournament and event prices vary by format. A Thursday Gundam league and a Friday Dungeons & Dragons night also appear on the weekly calendar, and Riftbound and Union Arena are part of the store's range.
