Break Point Cards

Break Point Cards is a trading card shop at 100 W Chestnut St in Hinsdale, Illinois, selling sealed product, raw singles and professionally graded slabs across Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering and sports cards, with several other games alongside. It also runs an in-person PSA grading submission service, which sets it apart from a typical counter-and-shelves shop. It suits sports card and Pokémon collectors in the western suburbs who want sealed boxes, graded inventory and grading help in one stop.

What's on the shelves

Pokémon and sports cards are the two biggest categories. The Pokémon stock covers booster boxes, Elite Trainer Boxes, single booster packs and collections. Sports cards are sorted by baseball, basketball, football, soccer, combat sports, racing and golf, and by format: hobby boxes, blaster boxes, mega boxes, single packs and tins.

The store also carries Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Disney Lorcana, the Digimon Card Game and the Dragon Ball Super Card Game. Entertainment cards and collectibles from Disney, Marvel and Star Wars sit alongside toys such as squishies, mystery toys and Labubu and Pop Mart figures.

Singles come both raw and professionally graded. Supplies include sleeves, toploaders, magnetic and one-touch cases, binders and portfolios, and card displays.

Football is the current focus. The 2026 Bowman Football line was released September 30, 2026, and the store sells it in several configurations:

Mega Boxes carry Mega-exclusive parallels, and the Delight Box is built around an exclusive autograph.

PSA grading submissions

The store submits cards to PSA for collectors, and every submission begins with an in-person evaluation at the shop. Grading is not sold online. The staff look at condition and realistic value, explain the tiers, and recommend one; the customer approves the total cost in the store before anything is packaged and sent. A card-grading specialist handles submissions, though not necessarily every day, so calling or texting ahead to confirm is the sensible move.

The turnaround clock starts once the order enters PSA's grading system, and the store's guidance is that grading generally only makes sense when a card's realistic value is at least equal to the cost of grading.

Store policies

All purchases are final sale. Returns, exchanges and cancellations are generally not accepted, sealed product included. Problems such as an incorrect item or damage in transit are considered case by case.

Online orders can be picked up at the Hinsdale store daily. Pickup customers wait for a ready-for-pickup notice, then bring the order confirmation and a valid photo ID, and high-value orders may need extra verification. Orders can also be shipped within the United States, and most in-stock orders go out within one business day. Orders that mix presale and in-stock items are held until everything is ready. Checkout takes Shop Pay, PayPal, Apple Pay and major cards. The store also streams daily live breaks.
