Black Dragon Games

Black Dragon Games is a game store at 756 Falls Ave in Twin Falls that covers the major trading card games alongside miniatures, board games and tabletop roleplaying. Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece Card Game, Disney Lorcana, Digimon Card Game and Dragon Ball Super Card Game all have a place on the shelves, and the store runs an event calendar with dozens of entries across those games. It suits players who want a regular Commander pod or a Pokémon League night, and hobbyists who paint miniatures or play wargames.

What's on the shelves

Trading card games are split into sealed product and singles. Sealed stock covers Magic: The Gathering, Digimon, Dragon Ball Super, Gundam, Lorcana, One Piece, Riftbound, Star Wars: Unlimited and Yu-Gi-Oh!. Singles include Pokémon, Cookie Run, Cyberpunk and Dragon Ball Super Fusion World. A buylist is available for selling cards to the store.

The wargaming section is broad: Warhammer 40,000, Warhammer Age of Sigmar, Warhammer books and boxed games, Marvel: Crisis Protocol, Star Wars: Legion and Star Wars: Shatterpoint, plus paints from Army Painter, Colour Forge, Pro Acryl, Turbodork, Two Thin Coats and Warhammer Colour / Citadel, along with brushes and modeling supplies. The board game aisle runs from party and family games to strategy, cooperative, deck building and jigsaw puzzles, with a used section. Roleplaying stock includes Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, Fallout, Star Wars and Vampire Masquerade, and the accessory wall carries dice in every form, sleeves in standard and Yu-Gi-Oh! sizes, binders, deck boxes, life counters, playmats and storage. Clothing, jewelry, toys, wall scrolls, chapter books and gift certificates round it out.

Events and organized play

The store hosts a Pokémon League, and Magic is the busiest game on the calendar. Commander Night pods run on Wednesdays and Fridays, starting at 6 PM, 7:30 PM and 9 PM, and participation is free. Friday Night Commander adds a league: players earn League Points over a four-week season, and each season ends with promo cards and promo packs.

Standard Showdown is a free weekly Standard event that has handed the winner a promo card. Draft events have run Sundays at 12:30 PM for a $30 entry that includes a promo pack and a booster for each match win. Prerelease weekends run across multiple time slots, and the store held Magic: The Hobbit prereleases at $60 and $75 entry, with a Two-Headed Giant session on Saturday. Commander Party nights are free, one-round events with special play aids and promo cards while supplies last.

The Reality Fracture Commander Party is set for October 29 at 6 PM, free and open to all experience levels. Pokémon fans have Pokéween on October 31: free entry, with promo cards and stickers for the first 50 players who sign up and play. The Delta Reign Pokémon Prerelease the same evening at 7 PM costs $30 and includes a Build & Battle Kit, three rounds and packs just for playing; it has sold out.

The store also runs a Dungeons & Dragons organized play program with published rules and rewards. The calendar includes modelers, board game, Cyberpunk, Riftbound, Digimon, One Piece, Lorcana, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Star Wars events.

Store policies

Orders are pickup only; the store does not ship. A rewards program called Dragon Bucks launched in April 2026, and a private gaming space can be rented for groups that want a table of their own. A code of conduct and an organized play card legality policy govern play in the store.

Hours and getting there

Hours run on an unusual schedule, so check the day before you go.

Event nights may differ from these retail hours, since Commander pods are scheduled on Wednesdays and Fridays.

The store is at 756 Falls Ave, Twin Falls, Idaho 83301.

History

The store went through a remodel in August 2026, after its Magic: The Hobbit prerelease weekend. During the work the play space doubled as the retail area, and organized play and events paused until August 22, after which the weekly calendar resumed with a refreshed space and an updated floor.
