Bearded Browncoat Comics & Games

Bearded Browncoat Comics & Games is a family-owned comics and games shop at 500 SW 10th St in Ocala, Florida, serving Central Florida since 2014. The store carries Pokémon trading cards and the One Piece Card Game, but its shelves lean toward tabletop: board games and a deep run of miniature wargames sit beside the comics and video games. It suits players who want a card aisle and a miniatures aisle under the same roof.

What's on the shelves

Comics, video games, board games and trading cards make up the core stock. Pokémon trading cards and the One Piece Card Game are the card games the store carries.

The miniatures range is where the store stands out. It sells Warmachine, a steampunk tactical game set in the Iron Kingdoms, along with Bolt Action and Konflikt '47 for World War II and alternate-history battles. Dystopian Wars and Armoured Clash cover naval and land warfare in an alternate late nineteenth century, and Star Wars Legion, BattleTech, Fallout Wasteland Warfare, Halo: Flashpoint and Marvel Crisis are stocked as well. Skirmish games include Guards of Traitor's Toll, set in a fantasy city, and Moonstone, a fairytale-themed game for two to four players built on bluffing and card mechanics. The StarCraft Miniature Game, Games Workshop products and Conquest: First Blood round out the shelves.

Board games run from cooperative and hidden-traitor titles to light party games. Betrayal at House on the Hill 3rd Edition, Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion, King of Tokyo Monster Box, The Grinch Clue and the Smash Up line, with several expansions, are among the titles in stock.

Store policies and perks

A loyalty program lets customers earn points on purchases and redeem them on a later order. The balance updates whether the purchase is paid for online or in the store. As an example, a $55.99 board game earns $0.83 in loyalty credit.

Orders can also be placed online, and shipping is free on orders over $150.
